Gimlet
All this talk of Bongo Bongo land has given me the urge to travel to Bongo Bongo land. Have any PW members been to Bongo Bongo land and if so firstly could they telll me where Bongo Bongo land actually is and then recomend some places to see in Bongo Bongo land. Cheers If you mean that place where the natives sit around all day thumping drums instead of earning a living, then yes I have been. Its real name is Glastonbury. I wouldn't bother to be honest. Nothing to see. Its all rather primative and artificial and everyone's on the cadge or pestering you to buy some useless tatt. You'd be better off with a fortnight in Ghana. Toilets are better too. aris
OK, if there is no such place then the man is a talking rubbish, as we cannot send aid to a land that does not exist. If however he is using language to hide the fact that he means all nations that are receiving aid from UK coffers are bongo bongo land then he is indeed a racist, is that any simpler? I think it is only racist to those whose argument it suits and the race card is the only argument which they can come up with to defend sending 'aid' money to foreign countries who waste a large portion of it. Malik
Id be happy with that "My way or the Highway" Its about time someone stood up for our country. You are aware that "my way or the highway" is a dictatorship.... If we are unhappy with the current situation. We vote using the democratic system we have in place or use petitions etc. Although i agree that most people would like to see money spent here instead of sent to charity aboard. The only way to show the politicians this is by a petition thousands of names strong or to vote accordingly at the next general election. No one will ever be happy all the time. Thats why there are different political groups, that stand for different views. Elections determine what the majority of population want at that time
-Mongrel-
...I know some govenments in africa have problems with corruption but they are many that don't.... Go on then, I'll bite, which ones don't have problems with corruption? I'm struggling to think of one at the moment.

You cannot be racist towards a land or people who don't exist, if anything you could suggest insinuation, nothing more. As for bonkers, I feel he has shown himself to be of sound mind today, whether you like what he has said or not.
neil3728
Heard a bit of this been discussed on radio 2 this afternoon. he did have a very vallid point, noone seems to know where the money spent on foreign aid actually ends up. If we are spending 1 billion a month on aid shouldn't it stop and be redirected towards our own healthcare. Its about time that UKIP found a decent voice, they are only saying what mosty of us are thinking anyway.

You forgot the drink Um Bongo! http://www.thedrum.com/news/2013/08/07/um-bongo-producer-attempts-raise-awareness-brands-continued-existence-back-ukip-meps The statement, attributed to a Gerber Juice spokesperson, said: "We're proud to say that Um Bongo is alive and well and being made under license in Bridgwater, Somerset with the kind permission of the orang-utans, rhinoceroses and hippopotamuses that own the brand. Um Bongo has no political affiliations at all, although all our owners are keen environmentalists. We're currently on sale in several leading UK supermarkets with some exciting new flavours and we're raising funds to save orang-utans from extinction." Surely that should lighten the situation
BRNDL
Is it racist to make the assumption that the words "Bongo Bongo Land" are directly linked to an existing race? Only asking?
ack-ack
Is it racist to make the assumption that the words "Bongo Bongo Land" are directly linked to an existing race? Only asking? The bongo bongolese ambassador has been unavailable to confirm or deny the existence of bongo bongo so i suppose until he/she makes a statement ( if he/she actually exists) we'll never truly know how racist we are / arent being. I've had no l
-Mongrel-
He's on Ch5 now, and utterly unrepentant! Good on him! At least he is willing to stand by his comments and as we (mostly) all know, he is right. It is just the namby pambys who have got upset because it's a slow news day and they feel much better when outraged! The sooner we get people with a grip on the real world running this country (including Scotland if they decide to stick around) the better! The more UKIP do and say, the more Joe Public likes what he sees, brilliant!

unapalomablanca
How long can Britain stay a first world country? It may seem a daft question, but is it? Our ludicrous leaders happily pauper us and brag about the lunacy of shoveling billions to the third world, they then import the third world into the country in the millions with no rules or criteria, who then breed like there is no tomorrow. We then have the reality of the home grown underclass and the illegal land dwellers carrying out their own agenda. Seriously think about It, there are large swathes of Britain that are unrecogniseable from 50 years ago, and the machine just rolls on every day. Am I alone in thinking we are In huge ****, or am I just another silly racist/bigot? Things have changed massively for the worst in the 30 years I have been politically aware, all this is going on and people worry about the words 'bongo bongo'. Good god. Gimlet
Apparently, each year £10 billion of it gets swallowed by "consultancy" fees before it even leaves this country. A racket at both ends by the sound of it with the taxpayer left in the middle labouring to the grave to pay for it. Much evil is caused in the world by politicians trying to spend their way to victory with other people's money.
bicykillgaz
I thought bongo bongo land sounded like a random name he picked out the air rather than naming country x,y,z and being accused of been racist. He's totally right in what he says with regards to aid and I don't think he's got anything to appologise for. People refere to china as wiki wiki land, ting tong land and other such things when talking about ebay bargains, led torches etc and non of the pigeonwatch pc police jump on them when clearly they're referring to china in what could be taken as a racist context, so whats the issue with what matey has said? Bleeh
For crying out Jesus titty mary christ, this, again?Right Kiddos, I'm going to try and explain it plain and simple with nice short words."Aid" = Bribes. Bribes for British business contracts. British business contracts = Tax money. Tax money = GOOD. (For all of us, believe it or not)I'd like to say it's about charity, but it's not. It's about giving ******* ****** loads of money to corrupt officials and rebel generals so when lush new oil/mining/defense contracts become available, we've already got our foot in the door. Why do you think out of all the rebelling nations in the world that we largeley ignore, why do we have the US/UK behind Syrian rebels and Chinia/Russia behind the Syrian Government? because the winner gets oil, oil = £. If China and Russia was buddied up with the Rebels, we'd be supporting the Government. The fact he's got as high as he has in UKIP and he doesn't understand this is simply frighting.I now want every single person who continues to think aid is a waste of money (even though it produces more money in the long run) to explain to me why.
