overandunder2012
Exactly. Scrap overseas aid, give the money back to us in tax cuts and let us choose which charities we give our* money to. Edit: *That is, the money we've borrowed from China. In fact here's a radical idea: lets not borrow it in the first place. scrapping human aid would be 1 thing but giving you the money back!!!! its unheard of you got more chance of becoming pm yourself

jasper3
Don't know about you ..... I most certainly did not, no matter what these so called experts say. Does this mean Tasmanian Aboriginals came from Africa .... I don't think so. yep... Early human migrations began when Homo erectus first migrated out of Africa over the Levantine corridor and Horn of Africa to Eurasia about 1.8 million years ago. The expansion of H. erectus out of Africa was followed by that of Homo antecessor into Europe around 800,000 years ago, followed by Homo heidelbergensis around 600,000 years ago, where they probably evolved to become the Neanderthals.[1] Modern humans, Homo sapiens, evolved in Africa up to 200,000 years ago and reached the Near East around 125,000 years ago.[2] From the Near East, these populations spread east to South Asia by 50,000 years ago, and on to Australia by 40,000 years ago,[3] when for the first time H. sapiens reached territory never reached by H. erectus. H. sapiens reached Europe around 43,000 years ago,[4] eventually replacing the Neanderthal population. East Asia was reached by 30,000 years ago. The date of migration to North America is disputed; it may have taken place around 30 millennia ago, or considerably later, around 14 millennia ago. Colonisation of the Pacific islands of Polynesia began around 1300 BC, and was completed by 900 AD. The ancestors of Polynesians left Taiwan around 5,200 years ago. The study of early human migrations since the 1980s has developed significantly due to advances in archaeogenetics.

Gimlet
scrapping human aid would be 1 thing but giving you the money back!!!! its unheard of you got more chance of becoming pm yourself Which is why we are where we are. It is precisly because so many aspects of our governance have been placed permenantly beyond discussion by an entrenched political elite that support for plain-speaking UKIP has surged. And If aid is a bribe, it is a rotten corrupt way of doing business. And wasteful. If we had trillions of pounds of oil revenue gushing out of the ground, there might at least be some skewed logic to sprinkling bribes around the world to keep ourselves on the international Christmas card list. But we don't, we have nothing, we're broke. Its borrowed money that won't be repaid is this liftime, it will be handed down in a poisoned legacy to the next generation; and If we are giving aid to India for example, it is highly likely that some of it was borrowed from them in the first place. Madness.

Sprackles
Daily Mail = sensationalism apparently so no doubt somebody will be along shortly to tell us that the information is all false. Well the Beeb won't report it, it goes against their liberal leftie agenda to show anything like this in its true light. Much the same as its attitude to the EU and UKIP in general. Nobody said aid money is used wisely, men and money is a potent mix, money and power always corrupts, but the end result is influence where there would be none if you allow others to grant aid instead. Western governments don't care how it's spent in other words and as others have hinted a fair portion of it is gobbled up here anyways. aris
I have no problem with helping out the needy - but I think it is unwise to just open your wallet and hand out cash. If they want food aid - send food (and if it's British aid - send food which benefits British interests). If they want immunisations - send the immunisations and the staff to administer them - from British pharma concerns.

henry d
Bongo drums were the standard form of communication for milennia in the african sub continent. Rubbish...(according to the all knowing wiki) The bongo originated from the eastern region of Cuba known as the "Oriente", during the nineteenth century. The bongos used in changüí, known as bongó el monte, are larger and tuned lower than their modern counterparts, have tack-heads instead of tunable hardware, and play in a manner similar to rumba quinto and other folkloric lead drum parts.[2] (Hear bongó el monte "Ritmo changüí" with Grupo Exploracion). Bongos are also used in the related Cuban musical genre known as son. The bongos came to western Cuba at the turn of the twentieth century, when son migrated to the capital city of Havana. With the advent of the son montuno in the late 1930s, bongo players (bongoceros) began playing a large hand-held cowbell (bongo bell) during the chorus (montuno) section of songs. keg
I don't I obviously have not been clear here, whwen I say "I believe" I use it in the context of "i'm not sure but I believe" so perhaps I should have put that. Having had time to research this, the Encyclopedia Britannica states "This age-old belief that the earliest known culture originated in the Fertile Crescent has been confirmed by the development of radiocarbon dating since 1948." Whilst this does not confirm or deny anything about use being descended from here, the same publication states that "the region in the Middle East where the civilizations of the Middle East and the Mediterranean basin began here". HD don't watch this you will have a dickie fit now these are a bunch of screaming racist ab dabs God KW, that brings back memories of some lively nights back in the 90s. Other than in your head that is? The definition of racism was changed some time ago, hadn't you heard? It used to mean someone like hitler , it now applies to any white person who voices disapproval at their country being destroyed by the third world. The people who make these allegations, of this new styled racism are almost exclusively other white people of a certain political persuasion. Gordon R
Some are experts in finding racism. Bit like the Witchfinder General. If you can't find it, you haven't looked hard enough. I also hear what people say about greasing palms abroad to get things done, but where is the accountability? We dish out millions and millions in the hope that it does some good, but compare that to hospitals in the UK who have to produce stats on waiting times etc. Charity begins at home and should end there in these austere times. keg
As a sales bunny, I would only give the aid out if we were g'teed the Aircraft or whatever order is required. It needs to be looked at on a commercial basis. I would be sacked then shot if I operated the way some govt departments do. I look on the company money as my money and there is the problem. The muppets who work in these departments do not see the need to be accountable.
