30-06hunter
Hi All whilst at the midland show i did an impulse by of a foxcallUk call.. anyone found this call to work for them ? going to give it a go this some time this week, but thought id get some pros and cons from you guys first. cheers
tonker
yes they work a treat! you can vary the sound and volume by blowing softer or harder, and biting down on it a bit (not to hard) practice makes perfect
Dekers
I've had one for several years now, the design has changed slightly I notice for the lanyard fixing. They work as well as anything, but don't give up on the hand either!
masmiffy
Got one off ebay 12 months ago does the job but as always its not the 'ultimate' Still use my hand and that works better!!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PRO-FOX-CALL-FOXCALLER-FOX-WHISTLE-/251332517974?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item3a8495e056
Frenchieboy
I have had and used one for over a year now. As Tonker has said with a bit of practice you can get a great variation of sounds/calls from it.
webber
Yes they do work. You should find them on my website if Stephen has done his job. webber http://www.norgascartridges.co.uk

Peskyfoxs
I have one and it works, be warned though I have had 2 falls to bits, acording to the company I bought from its only me but keep an eye on the pastic rivets as they worked loose and fell out on mine. masmiffy
The one I got of ebay is still intact after 12 months and has been fine, at £6.76 why would you buy a Foxcall UK version which is twice the price!!! I personally dont think a fancy lanyard knot is worth the other £6!!

I personally dont think a fancy lanyard knot is worth the other £6!! I have just ordered another one to keep as a spare. The one I have ordered is listed as a "Pro Fox Fox Caller" by Fieldsportsuk and is £6.75 with Free Postage on "The Bay". It looks identical to the Foxcall UK (And I'll bet it sounds identical too) but at almost half the price! As for the screws/rivets coming loose, I have never had this on the one I have - Yet! Had no problems with mine either mate. Have also got a couple I made using your 'design' just substituted wood for plastic. Frenchieboy
Pete, Does it sound different to the ones you make with two bits of dowel and video tape ? Yes mate it does. These are slightly higher pitched than the ones I make and to be quite honest you can get more variation in calls from them. I have just had a new one of the cheaper "Pro Fox" callers arrive this morning, the only difference I can see is in the colour, originally the FoxcallUK is black but the Pro Fox that has just arrived is Olive Green! filzee
I have one of these calls. The first time i used it was last year on a stubble field and a fox came steaming into it. Since then I havn't had a single fox interested in it. I have shot four fox's in the last 3 weeks and not one of them has been interested in a call i have just managed to get close enough to them. Maybe im doing something wrong with it.

Whilst I rate these callers quite highly this is exactly why whenever I do go out foxing (Which is rare these days) I always like to take at least 3 different callers with me. I usually carry 2 FoxcallerUK/Pro Fox callers, a wigeon(sp) caller, a Tenterfield caller and a small "Predator" electronic caller. What we have to remember is that what might work very well on one night might not raise the slightest interest the next night, especially if the foxes in the area have been called, lamped and missed/educated before! As Pete said, I carry a few different fox calls when out after them. I have at least 3 of the home made 'lollypop stick' ones, and these seem to work the best. I have to wonder if the home made "Lollipop Stick" ones tend to be favoured as no 2 of them are likely to sound identical due to the differing tensions of the reeds? Muddy Funker
Bump, One of these? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/original-foxcall-foxcalls-foxcaller-lamping-free-pp-free-lanyard-hunting-/271297058038?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&hash=item3f2a9094f6 Or pay nearly twice as much for the proper original foxcall one? This will be the first fox call I've bought. Thanks guys.
