sitsinhedges
After what looked like a great day coming to nothing much yesterday I'd pretty much given up on the weekend but after doing all the things that needed doing today my other half decided mid afternoon that she wanted to go out for a blast on her Vespa so I thought sod it and chucked my kit in the back of my van and drove over to some cultivated fields near Corby that still had a bit of food on it. It was being sprayed off but luckily the field I wanted to go on was already done and the sprayer seemed to help in keeping the birds moving off surrounding fields as it went about its business. I wasn't really expecting much, didn't even take that many cartridges, but the birds decoyed well and unlike yesterday where I was stabbing marginal shots at jittery birds and generally missing I was actually shooting really well too. I had 4 left and rights one of which was like a pair of high driven pheasant, awesome I was shooting 28 grams of homemade no6 thru my Franchi Alcione 20gauge and getting some great long range kills. Ended up with exactly 40 woodies (and two ferals which I didn't bother picking) for a couple of hours shooting, and a big smile on my face of course

sitsinhedges
how much is the cost of making your own cartridges do you you save much Well I was shooting with 'Numpty' yesterday and he had just bought a slab of Lyalvale 20gauge 28gram 5s in fibre for £60 odd, mine cost just over £100 per thousand. They do take a bit of work to make but I enjoy that aspect of shooting too. Just had a count up and it was 55 shots for the 42 birds which has got to be a personal best for me too. Didn't think I'd missed many today
