Sean Richo
Hi I have got the same as you and I face the rod towards the pigeon it's a bit trial and error but once you get them sorted they work well I was the same as you when I first got them don't panic you will figure them out hope I have helped answer question. The pigeons head faces the bit that you tighten the cradle to the rod then when the wind blows the rod around the pigeon faces into the wind the way it would normally land so I believe am no expert tho but that's how I use mine. Shooterluke
You can neither have it front or back on the back its a bouncer to the front of decoy its a floater I think anyway

DEADLY PLUMBER
Rod facing back into the bird is best. They do work the other way round. But not as good. They don't come with very good instructions. Also try the rods both ways up. I have not used mine for a while but I think the bent bit of the rod goes into the bird cradle. When set they work well in a light breeze. In strong wind they can fly about to much. I usually place them off to a flank leading birds into my pattern. I use them instead of a rotary sometimes. I also use them above standing crops in the summer. Trial and error. Good luck
Steview555
I have loads of trouble with mine ......If I use both the poles together front or back the bird just seems to sink to the floor!! The only way I have had success is to use the bent bit of the pole into the bird coming under the tail and into the spike, I know this isnt correct but it is the only way I can get it to work!!! Must be missing something any help appreciated
Dbw1shrops
When I bought mine I put the cradle into the breast of the decoy ! And the bent part of the pole into the ground stake so if the wind is coming from behind the rod faces away from you and the decoy is facing you they ain't brill though mine kept twisting where the two poles join because there is nothing to stop them ?!? Hope this helps Atb Dave
TIGHTCHOKE
Does this help?
Dbw1shrops
That's the one TC that's how mine is ! But as I said not the best lol is yours a JP ? Looks the same ! If so how do you stop the bird twisting or have you not encountered this problem ? Cheers Dave
TIGHTCHOKE
It's only happened a couple of times, I plan to drill a small hole and use a pop rivet to stop the rotation!
Dbw1shrops
Thanks TC that's sounds like a cracking idea ! I did put some electrical tape on the end of the rod but only worked for one outing so your idea is very good and a permanent fix providing I don't split the carbon rod lol thanks TC Atb Dave
00buck
if I put mine like that the decoy tips back tail down looked at some in the gun shop today and mine are different the holes for the cradle are not in the same place not had them twist round on me I do with my bouncers with air pros on
Worzel-gummidge
I have just purchased one of these and reading this P***ing myself laughing I took it out yesterday to give it a try and it was quite windy, no instructions how to set it up so I had the pigeon facing away with from the rod. I even kept running over to the pattern to turn it back into the wind. No wonder the stupid thing was nose diving into the dirt, LOL Worzel
mossy835
i had one and cut the pole down, so it floated better, and the pigeons were jinking off so painted the wings because they shine in the sun,
hawkeye
If you had got them from myself or MAG357 you would not have had all this bother. We put full instructions in with ours that even some scotsmen can understand...

Reeceknight
but it still flips upside down. It needs a pin or screw in the sleeve that holds the poles togeather.
matone
Just drill a small hole through the joint and use a 3/4" panel pin, works fine. Agree this should be sorted by the makers, but most seem to be selling the same old **** for good money.
