Rexcernui
I have just ordered the above knife as I have read quite a few good reviews about it and for the cost I don't think you can go wrong. I have a large collection of knives but for taking into the field I usually take either an opinel or my seal pup, which is a tad large for cleaning game. What knives do you lot use in the field? I can't really imagine everyone using hand made £200 knives for cleaning pigeons and rabbits so what is your everyday cheapo? John
TIGHTCHOKE
I have a Mora but normally take one of my FIELDCRAFTERS out in to the field. Been superb so far!

Rexcernui
Those the ones sold here? Would love a fieldcrafter but they are too steep for my shallow pockets. Edited October 26, 2013 by Rexcernui

Flynn
Either a Mora, an Opinel no 7 or a Boker, which tends to be in my pocket 24/7.
Rexcernui
I do have 3 FW James knives but would never think about using them in the field. Cheap and cheerful for dirty work.
Blunderbust
Mora, I think I have 4. They are a great value knife and more than capable during the gralloch.
Muddy Funker
Yep Mora Clipper, called companion now I think. Hi viz orange, for the money it's amazing.
mick miller
Clipper or Mora, but I can do everything I need to with the Opinel including a complete fallow gralloch, joint and remove the head. The mora is much easier to clean though, just chuck it in the dishwasher.
aris
You won't go wrong with a mora.

Gimlet
Boker for gralloching. Small Buck folder for paunching. I don't mind spending reasonable money on a knife. The right one gets to feel a like a pair of slippers and nothing else will do. The above knives are keepers because they are just "right". Still looking for the "right" large general purpose folder. fenboy
Mora clipper companion for me , carbon steel though not stainless as I think you get a better edge , amazing knies for the money.
mossberg-operator
Got 2, can't go wrong. Not full blade, only 3/4. But works.
TIGHTCHOKE
Those the ones sold here? Would love a fieldcrafter but they are too steep for my shallow pockets. Oh yes, just making some cheaper versions, have a look in the OTHER SALES section.

fieldwanderer
I make my own, infact I've got another on the go at the moment - however, they've all been bushcraft knives so far (including the latest) and I'm in half a mind to postpone this one and buy some more steel to make a field specific knife. Anyway, the mora's are very popular. Apparently, the Northern European tradesmen use them the same as British use a Stanley knife. You used to be able to get a stainless one with carbon steel in the middle so you got a finer edge when sharpened. I don't know if you still can or not but I think that'd be my first choice if buying one.
Zapp
I had one, it was a great knife that took an edge easily and held it well. My knife of choice though is a carbon steel opinel. Again, easy to maintain and cheap enough that I won't kick myself if I lost it.
Salop Matt
I found the Mora just to big for air rifle quarry, I use an opinel No 6 . If I were doing deer of any kind though I would get a Mora with a bright orange plastic handle easy to find and okay to dish wash ! Frenchieboy
I carry either one of my Mora Clippers or my Opinel Number 7 for "general rough shooting" or my hand made fixed blade knife for stalking and culling! I should add that all 3 of these and the other couple of fixed blade knives in my collection are more than sharp enough to shave with. If i really had to choose a favourite from all of them it would be the hand made fixed blade knife photographed below!
