Ive been fired, similar to Olly but that brown tongued supervisor had it coming, felt absolutely fantastic until half way home when it hit me 'what am I going to tell the Mrs and how do I pay the rent and feed the kids' really should of ignored him I guess but then I wouldn't be in the job I have now.

i once took a job at a company with a really bad reputation in the way they treated there staff. I was only going to there be a few months until i could start my job i have now (its along story). I was a right pain in the ****. i made the bosses life hell. i tried practically everything to get the sack, all the other lads who worked in the workshop thought i was a bit mentall but the boss was so horrible,i think they really liked what i did to him. But the really crazy part is when i told him i was leaving and i thought he was a bit of tool he told me i could come back if i wanted!!! i couldn't make it up.

Perhaps they thought you had management potential.

i will miss all the boring rubbish out ,but was laid off/sacked for stealing scrap off a job, which i took on the chin :whistling: ,this was done via a phone call, then had the great fun of turning up at his house days later to deal with a wasps nest he'd called a pest control mate of mine to do,who knowing who he was and being my friend gave me the gear and said its all yours! His face was a picture when i turned up!

Got sacked for "poor performance" during an apprenticeship. Boss wondered why I didnt have my driving licence after 3 months of learning.

I was sacked after 6 months and 3 days. The government paid my wages for the first 6 months of the apprenticeship. I'd love to go back in time.

Loads of times when sub contracting. Main client gets on at the company doing the work to get so much done in a certain time and to get more men in to do it. Get a call lied to from the start get most of the work done that needed done in time frame not known by me and my mate. Then contractor looks for an excuse to fire you as he didn't want you in the first place. Normally a heated discussion follows before leaving.

Never been fired from a proper job, walked from plenty though.

1 Boss tried.....really hard, until everyone including HR told him he couldnt as he didnt have a case,

It was more a clash of personalities, he didnt have one and thought he was God, (for all we didnt like each other, the one thing I sort of admired about him was that within 3 months of starting, he new everyones first name, about 80 employees)

Another Boss did sack me ( I refused to come to work with a broken foot :whistling: ) first day back after Doc told me it was ok, I told him as soon as I packed my tools I would be off,

He then changed his mind....lol, he was actually an ok bloke, just a bit eccentric, his son was a different matter.....now banned from running a business in this country...

Same here, after i have punched in the chin an albanian scumbag who called me a gypsy for months... one morning i decided enough is enough and knocked him down... only thinking about this, and it makes me fell better :D

Only once, which as a sub-contractor is no mean feat.

Started a new 'job' and it took 11 days, and it wasn't because I wasn't capable, willing, qualified or any other reason relating to my ability to do the job. It was because the owner of the company I was subbing to was a smack head and control freak. When he found out I wasn't going to grovel at his feet and be forever thankful that he'd given me a job he let me go.

I wasn't going to be working with him directly so you'd think really he'd be interested in my ability to do what was required, which he freely admitted I was, but no, it was a 'clash of personalities'.

Didn't even have the decency to tell me direct. His party trick was to go home, get high and paranoid and then start ringing around people giving them grief, that's how he let me go. I asked whether I was working until the end of the week, 'No, effective immediately, don't come in tomorrow', 'Will I get paid any notice?' I asked, 'I don't pay people not to work'! What a complete bell end, lucky escape I suspect!

Back in the 80s I worked for Whitegate leisure! Breaks "getting them" was an issue! I took a toilet break, only to come back to a po faced boss! Telling me if I take another break I would be sacked! I told him I was off for a cheese burger and turned my back on him!

I got my cheese burger, got in my car and drove home! I got a call asking where I went? I recited his threat and told him I considered myself relieved! He told me to come straight back to work!

I told him.I couldn't be bothered to drive 15 miles back to work!

Following day I got myself a job working in corperate entertainment :D
