SNAKEBITE
How long is a bit of string? Narrow it down a bit and I'll chuck in my opinion for what it's worth! But for now ..... AAS4** will do it for you no worries.
Axe
Next Airgun I buy will be a Daystate X2 / X3. Once you have narrowed it down with your budget, the best rifle for you is the one that feels comfortable and shoots straight when you take a shot. try and visit a local club and/or gun shop and try out your options. Its the only way you will find the perfect rifle for you.
Cyber
Daystate Airwolf .. I love mine that much i shoot it in the house ! all the best yis yp HAHAHAHA!!! I do that aswell when im bored!!! lol. I have a Daystate X2 and i don't think you can go wrong with a Daystate to be honest, they are amazingly accurate. I have heard nothing but good about the Air Arms S400/S410's aswell though. like others have said, you should try a few first and see which one you like! arnold
Best to look around and see what suits you too your needs as others tell you, you can go for the large brand names or budget names :look:
louilester
I went to the local gunshop and 'tried a few on for size'. I liked the Air Arms and all the chaps in the shop nodde dsagely as they all used them to. They couldn't recommend them highly enough. I went for the AA S410 Carbine in .22. However I managed to find a second hand one on the web from a chap who lives in Torquay. It arrived in mint condition, in a slip with a divers bottle all for £430 (plus £18 p&p). I've not had much chance to use it really - work getting in the way - but am going to the Shepreth Airgin club open day on 29th for sure, I hope to have a go with some targets on a friends field to get used to it. Then when it's zero'd and I'm happy with my consistency, a pal and I are planning some hunting on several bits of land that we have permission for. Just owning it is a joy in it's self.. Theskyfox
The Weihrauch HW100 Karbine just got a fantastic review in air gunner, might be worth a look. I can also recommend the Enigma, but if u do get it make sure its the deluxe wooden version because I've heard the synthetic very build quality isnt that good. -Andrew
kdubya
Well I have seen budget mentioned, seen accuracy mentioned, even seen looks mentioned, but what about what actually counts, presuming of course your into hunting as opposed to paper bashing? ie shot count reliability and accuracy all put together, then (and this is after owning and using the following) namely a webley raider 2 shot (really good gun that) HW100 nice but heavy and a low shot count, daystate x2 long heavy inconsistent not a great shot count and a power curve like no other, but hey it looked nice, then I spoke to a few people who actually used air as a valuble tool in the control of rabbit, they suggested theoben rapid mk1 or 2 so I sat and thought about it decided to try one loved it, mk1 that is then had it upped to fac and put it on my ticket liked it so much I had another MADE for me mk1/2 hybrid bsa barrel more shots than I will ever need in a session @40ftlbs, so if you want to start off with a decent 12lber that is so so pointable reliable and will give god knows what with a 400cc bottle AND a gun you can upgrade to fac and retain more than usefull shotcount then shop about and get hold of a decent mk1 or 2 rapid, you will not regret it. cheers KW
Lord Geordie
I am bias as i LOVE Falcons always have done always will. They are not regulated but the consistency is brilliant almost as though they WERE regulated. Pellet on pellet comfortable to hold and shoulder and loads of room for the Brass mods LG
nellynic
Had a few PCP's now and rate the BSA S10 as the best, Very accurate consistent and a good shot count. BB carbine the best. Had a daystate harrier and it was also superbly accurate but it was an early one and the hammer sounded a bit noisy for hunting. I also have a Logun S16 and having only got it a couple of weeks ago has found favour staright away but it is heavy and a bit long in the stock. Air Arm S4** is very popular and very reliable accurate etc, just make sure that however you've bought it off hasnt turned it up as its very easy to do and not recommended if you've not got an FAC. sniper22
daystate have the best aftersales in the business. the guns arent as cheap as some but instead are cutting edge and built in staffordshire by the people who really do put their pride into making them. ive owned daystates since '83 or '84. i put my money where my mouth is too, im editor of the daystate owners club (click here) air arms are ok for the price but the daystates are built to a standard not down to a price. the x2 is a great gun bred from a long line of daystates, the x2 r is the regulated version (mine shoots 120 shots a fill with 4 feet pr second variation) the mk3 is electronically controlled and packed with the features no other gun can beat (saftey catch led on/off, bleeps to tell you your on the last shot of the mag, bleeps to tell you it needs air, turn the lights/bleeps off, vary the power down to around 6ft/lb, single shot mode.) the air ranger is a large capacity gun, mine gave 760 shots a fill at 11.5ft/lbs using a 500cc cylinder. the airwolf is, well, the best airgun available bar none. see them at www.daystate.com
