Rimfireboy
When I was a kid I had one called a wrist rocket, it was well powerful. I've had a couple since, been and gone, and I bought a black widow a couple of years back, while on a trip to Stratford.Just saw it in the shop window and bought it on impulse. I keep it in the truck and sometimes have a bit of fun with it.

Rimfireboy
Poundland were selling one with a leather shot cup recently. Had loads of fun with mine!Too right, I've also got a cheapo one and I fitted Barnett magnum bands, made it good. When I bought my black widow, I thought, well it's only a tenner, and I'd just have spent that on beer or curry. So I bought the black widow and went out that night for some beer and a curry anyway. Just to celebrate my new purchase,lol...so win,win eh? The new ones look the business. Maybe one day I'll never grow up,lol.....

Alfred
I bought my lad a Blackwidow for Christmas, on the condition that he only uses it when he's with me (he's 10yrs old). Its kept out of his way in the gun cabinet. Its sad to have to keep it from him, at his age I was out with my mates taking shots at crows on the farm with ours, but times have changed and no doubt if someone saw him knocking off crows with it they'd have the law out sharpish. Scully
Found my old aluminium(?) Milbro catty some years ago and after a short spell of firing cherry tomatoes here and there my son lost interest in it. It now hangs beside the back door in readiness for one of the local cats. As a kid the fun was in making your own .... Finding the right tree or bush, for the wood .... Hobby shops for the rubber. and for really heavy work ( Big stones ) using Bicycle Forks. figgy
I had the Black Widow and always coveted the bigger better Barnett Diablo. Black Widow was great with the packs of little ball bearings, but expensive. Figgy

CoolhandMal
In the Great old days you had to make your own Sling/Catapult as there were no one selling them anywhere in our area in the 60,s we used to cut a Y piece from an hazel nut tree then slit some bicycle inner tube with a sharp knife for the sling Then cut a piece of leather from an old bag or boot to form the projectile holder and hey presto we had an instant Sling made up in a short time,Cats on my fathers garden used to hate my old marbles I mostly used mine with a group of friends shooting at cans and bottles,This at the time Was much better than watching black and white TV or listening to the Wireless.!!
