me and the old fella turned out after dinner to see if we could get a few shots off either at roost or late feeding birds, had a look at a field that hasn't had any birds on at all in the last few weeks when I looked, same again today so off o the next field nothing doing there either so backtracked on myself and drove past the first field we looked at and low and behold in the 15 mins we had been gone the pigeons decided to turn up on it birds were coming in from all angles and about 100 on the deck feeding, where the hell had these popped up from we were thinking, it was 2.15 pm by this time so we decided to just give them a go knew there was at least a hours shooting left in the day long walk to the hide site so travelled light as possible, set hide up decoys out, turbo flapper and a floater, shot the first bird by 2.50 pm and the last at 4pm so decent hour on them, but the main thing is we now know they are using this field after we had dismissed it the last few weeks as a no hoper so we can plan a better attack on them early morning and late feeding by the looks of it not a huge bag but any bag is welcome at the moment 18 down picked 15

'Where have they all come from?' I ask myself that every day having seen none until the last couple of weeks.

Doesn't it feel good to get out again?

out of the woods and on to the rape

it does bud we really enjoyed that hour today not bothered about bag size just to decoy a few is brilliant
