wickedwickedmotox
Not an air rifle, barrell size and bolt (port) opening shoe that, either .17hmr or .22 looks like a cz

Mentalmac
Typical daily fail though aswell, lots of hyperbole as per usual.
jayDT10
Got to be a .22 rimfire. I wouldn't of thought he'd be using a 17 in the middle of housing estates where most gardens are no more than 30 yards long. Good luck to him though, I should imagine he will kept reasonably busy . kingo15
Is that an acceptable calibre for the job?
CharlieT
Have a look at this picture of him. It's a .17 HMR in this one. Obviously swaps calibers to keep journalists on their toes !! http://uk.news.yahoo.com/meet-the-pe...5.html#bMRnEEO
Brad93
Definitely not an air rifle. Bloody idiots at the daily mail never get their facts straight and the amount of spelling errors in their articles shows what sort of writers they employ. Loads of people will be running out to buy air rifles now to shoot their foxes! Looking at the size of the moderator I would say .22lr Edited February 10, 2014 by Brad93
Westley
I think it is a bit sneaky not letting them know when he is coming.
felly100
Good advertising for him though. I would say it was an air rifle,if you were off to meet a journalist to do a photo shoot,it would make sense to just stick an air rifle in the boot. Zetter
After reading a few of the comments I wonder if hes regretting sticking his head above the parapet now? Some of the comment are funny though trap and release so they either A) come back or get released on some poor sod of a farmer who didnt have an issue up untill that point. Looks like some good reporting again from the rag heard .22 and had a quick check in WH Smiths and thought ah it must be an air rilfe I had one when I was a kid and this must be a special high powered one! jayDT10
Trap and release doesn't solve any problems really, anyone getting paid to trap and release who are trying to make a buck won't release to far away from the problem areas , imho. If I had problems with a fox the only sure way I know it won't be coming back is if were dead.
malkiserow
I am convinced someone is trapping and releasing near me. Quite a number of the foxes have a shaved area and an injection mark in that shaved bit.

In seriousness, that's definitely a box of .17 remminton next to him. Perhaps he only uses a 'high powered air rifle' to dispatch them close range?
