Will Poon
The most important thing is barring Mr P from the Raffle Azzurri. I'll sit next to Mr Potter to see if his luck on the raffle rubs off on me

Will Poon
Cut all the hassle and set one date and one club to have the shoot at. Then vote on the charity
kingo15
Sounds like a fun. I could well be in if the dates are ok. I need a new wooden spoon :-)

I have got a selection of possible Saturdays in May and June, and keep your eyes out for a poll in the next day or so
simonix
May I suggest sporting targets as a location? Large ground with lots of interesting targets, high towers, etc, and being just north of Bedford, it is pretty much slap bang in the middle of the country. timps
May I suggest sporting targets as a location? Large ground with lots of interesting targets, high towers, etc, and being just north of Bedford, it is pretty much slap bang in the middle of the country. It has already been held there, no problem in going back as it was very well run, but the consensus of opinion was to try different grounds until we run out of options. Will Poon
Just had a quick nosey at sporting targets website, it looks like a very well equipped place. Nice central location(ish) for us all to meet up there
AlistairB
I go to Sporting Targets and they consistently have quite a lot of no birds although im not sure how it was on the last charity shoot. I'd suggest Cambridge Gun Club as a better venue. Lots of interesting targets, high towers, and a 4 man automatic flush. The club house is good and cartridge prices are pretty good for those who want to buy some. AB Edited February 17, 2014 by AlistairB
Will Poon
More importantly, somewhere close to a nice hotel with a big beer garden

AB Have been there twice this month and out of the 800 odd clays we had over both days we had less than a handful of no birds. One did pack up completely but a quick phone call and they had it sorted within 5 mins. I like the idea of that location as its only 20mins from my house haha

reggiegun
By the looks of things so far the date is most important Yea best not clash with, PW CATTON RIFLE SHOOTING WEEKEND 17/18TH MAY 2014
Will Poon
It was on the 1st of June last year , I'm sure Teal knows of any major shooting events that may clash with the charity shoot
Catamong
It was on the 1st of June last year , I'm sure Teal knows of any major shooting events that may clash with the charity shoot There will always be date clashes at that time of year, but 99% of shooters who attend this event are not too bothered about other major events in the shooting calendar as they don't shoot many of them. This event is aimed at ordinary club shooters, the backbone of the sport, and also those who may only shoot clays once or twice a year but want to do something for charity. As for possible grounds, if it was a choice between Sporting Targets at Bedford and Cambridge GC, they are both very good grounds but my choice would be Sporting Targets, it's more central for most, they have a better clubhouse, and they looked after us very well last time. Let's hope I can make it again this year..! Cat.
simonix
The clubhouse is nice, and they do a great bacon butty! Not many pubs close by though! Like I said originally, its probably the biggest most well equipped ground in the centre of england! AB I would dispute that as I've been shooting there for years, it's a great ground and I'm sure Andy Clifton would be keen to accommodate the PW shooters.
