I beg to differ...that's exactly what its about...the Immigration card was played early at the start of this hand as the root cause for the lack of employment opportunity for Britains workforce

It's not the root of all evil. Immigration will put a strain on future generations (a bit like the baby boomers have done) unless population continues to grow at the same rate for ever.

We need highly skilled people to come in, we need to replace those that leave. We don't need millions of low skilled people because we have plenty of those sitting on the dole.

FM we dont hate Europeans we dont hate Europe we hate the undemocratic European Union, its not working and the only reason why Nick Clegg and co want to remain part of it is because its another trough to put their snouts in after they have done there damage here. ie for failed politicians.

I just hope the televised debate is not on the BBC as you can sure as hell they will select the leftist audience the BBC can find.

Gosh I hope this political awareness stretches right through the British population at the ballot box, whatever "race hate" card the loony left throw in the issue is not that and its coming across clearly - its as someone has said noses in troughs, take the high speed train link for example, the power companies, the fracking companies- all money going outside the UK. All we need now is a few politicians who are not working to feather their nests.

With that I do agree...but does such an animal exist ? of any political denomination ?

That's the thing isn't it? Probably only independent MPs, and they won't be in power.

Also, when it comes to the EU, is it that people are opposed to it in principle, or is it that they are opposed to it because like most things that are a committee (or designed by one), it's probably incredibly badly run with excessive waste, and freeloaders with the proverbial nose in the trough.

You know if you look to Thatcher and Churchill I think it does! If we have it today I am not so sure but Nigel seems to have some potential, if only the loonies didn't keep popping out of his ranks (though we know these exist in all parties often in family groups at the top of the party  ) A steadfast and true person with the courage to speak out? Neither Churchill nor Thatcher were the most popular at the time but they were prepared to stand true and see things through

If you look at Cleggie's background he has had a life of unbridled access to all things political.

His closest thing to 'proper' work appears to be a gap year as a skiing instructor. Other than that he spent much of his formative years going to various universities throughout the world and then working for various intellectual organisations. Then as an MEP, and hence to Westminster. If nothing else he is a skilled debater.

In other words he has never had to get his hands dirty, or worry about personal finances - he has had it made.

Now this doesn't mean that he is a mug - just yet another cynical politician of which we have a fair few. He is convinced about his own superior intellect, and not short in lecturing the disadvantaged and underprivileged of how smart a guy he is. If you disagree with him then you haven't grasped the finer points of his argument. One thing that he doesn't appear to realise is that his policies have driven the Liberal party to being a nonentity in the political stakes - if you don't get the votes then you may as well not exist. Does this bother him - why should it? His finances are secure and he won't feel the pinch of being out of office. He can join the ranks of good old Tony Bliar and co and bask in an endless round of high paying lectures to audiences of a similar vein to himself.

Nigel at least has got his hands dirty, and seems to strike a chord with the puzzled and insecure - why should we have a huge unskilled immigrant population when we have large numbers of scroungers and layabouts? Nothing wrong with skilled immigrants who help the economy, and don't send the bulk of their earnings back to the motherland to build large houses....

It should be a good debate if the judges are unbiased and the audience not specially chosen for their leftist leanings. Fat chance.

Personally, I think irrespective of who is in Government next term, to leave the EU would be utterly disastrous for future commerce, export and industry in Britain. The other member states would be belligerent in dealings with us and trade terms would be heavily stacked in their favour.

We buy more from the rest of the EU than they buy from us to they'd be cutting their own throats if they did this.

Do you think the German car manufacturers want to stop selling into Britain?

[Edit] I forgot to say that MEXICO has the same trading rights as us with the rest of the EU, but the rest of their economy that isn't

involved in EU trade (like 95% of Britain's) isn't encumbered with the red tape ours is. [/Edit]

Cracking post. One of the most infuriating comments Cameron has made regarding the recession and our economy was the 'we're all in this together'. No, we're not Mr Cameron. If he could give one example of how the recession has had a negative effect on his income or standard of living, or how him losing his job at the next election will have on the same then I may have a bit more faith in him. Whatever happens, his standard of living or way of life will trundle on its merry way totally unaffected by any of this. No doubt the same will now apply to Farage, but at least he can identify with the man on the street.

As we import more from other member states of the EU than we export our withdrawal would not mean as our boy Clegg says pulling up the draw bridge , The Germans ,French and the rest will be falling over each other to sell us their VWs and Citroens ,wine and handbags scent and frocks . We on the other hand can make trading deals with individual counties and will not be affected by "protected status " rules so our cheese makers can make any type of cheese they want and export it world wide for example . We can get rid of the criminal discard of fish and control our boarders . One reason the EU does not want us to leave is the question of Ireland ,think of all the Irish wagons that travel through Britain ,so that in its self is a bargaining chip ,free passage otherwise all Irish produce would have to go by sea and that will be very costly .

Especially as we still have Stirling, yippie for Thatcher and her resolute no to it. This is an important point and one we cannot forget who needs who economically? Its not like the French go a bundle on German Cars etc. Given a break from Europe we can do as we please with the pound unfettered by Brussels

Has Greece sorted out all of its problems?

It all seems to have gone a bit quite on the BBC regarding them. Or is it that they can't find a right wing racist story to rant about and are worried that the economic gloom there will influence any voting in the forthcoming election?

Also it's all gone very quite on news regarding the prospective member states all of whom can't wait to leap upon the emerging state gravy train!

And I presume there hasn't been an influx of Romanian migrants as predicted?

By the way did Clare Balding make it back from Sochi? Surprising she was allowed in!
