fat_jay
Early 90's i think it was, Soundgarden, Faith No More and Guns n Roses at Wembly stadium, all on a roasting hot summers afternoon/evening, an amazing days music!!
Catweazle
No it was 2008, but it was in a marquee and it was the Thursday night I was there in 2002 and 2008, so I might have got the year wrong. It was absolutely lashing down outside and we wandered in to get out of the rain and found them getting ready to start. Great start to the festival, everybody was so wet the crowd were actually steaming.

I'd been working in the greenfields for a few days setting up an art installation that a friend was running, I was her handyman/builder etc. Levellers were a great start to the event, it was my first (hard to believe at my age) glastonbury, and incredibly memorable. feaks
FJ, I too went to Guns n Roses at Wembley in the 90s. Awsome, never seen so much female flesh on show during daylight hours. Seemed like a lingerie fashion show. Saw some bloke cop a flying Stella bottle on the swede before he even made the turnstiles . That ruined his day out I reckon! Fatcatsplat
Metallica at the Lyceum, FNM and Pearl Jam (separately) at Brixton, Motley Crue at the Marquee, GNR at Wembley and Dead Men Walking at CBGB's before it shut, just so i can say i was there!! Have managed the last 2 Downloads and off to Sonisphere this year to keep boogieing on down with the kids - Feel like a flippin' grandad though these days. Too old and knackered to mosh. On reflection it's a pity in a lot of ways that my memory of a lot of gigs is/was hazed by the power of imbibement - Looking at some of the stuff on youtube, i went to some really great gigs. mr_magicfingers
guns and roses Wembley 1990 I built that rig They'd just played a gig in the states where Axel had refused to come on stage for some reason and the crowd trashed the venue and stage. They put several pieces of kit that had been trashed, including Axel's trashed monitor wedge, on the stage with the new rig to remind him not to be a **** in future
