Rarely do I buy things that I am really happy with but the first recent one is a NM800 simply brilliant and the second is a Max box magnetic rest. This is basically a piece of foam cut to hold a rifle and with magnets fitted, so simple but works brilliantly lamping off the top of the truck you have the perfect rest which also doesn't blow off the roof. Very light and seems to stay attached to the stock well. I also have been using it up high seats where it gives you an extra bit of height compared to resting on the bar or sides. In the ground for shooting or zeroing it just seems to be that much more steady than a bipod so 10 out of 10. So what have you bought that you have actually been 100% happy with?

They seem a bit expensive for what is basically a piece of foam with magnets. Are they really that good to justify the expense? I do think they look useful though.

I looked at the MN800 but opted for a build by Ian at ir lightbuilds and I must admit it is brilliant. Haven't compared it to the MN800 but some people say they are better some say not quite as good but it does the job for me.

The Hide table with built in gun rest, best £18 I've spent for a long time. Clips onto a hide pole and perfect for a box of carts, flask and a few bits, pure luxury in the hide.

And last but definitely not least, my first new gun I bought a couple of weeks ago, the Beretta Xtreme.....

the most useful thing I have ever bought is my 7x50 Swarovski binos, bit heavy compared to the later type but I could still sell them for more than I paid new over a decade on. Reason I say this is I bought them for stalking but I also use them for scanning the marsh for feeding / resting fowl, watching flight lines, checking out were the rabbits are feeding from a long way out, checking out the fell side fox earths for activity, bird watching and wildlife watching sometimes checking out trespassers (last night I was watching an unknown truck lamping) turned out it was one of the keepers in his new veichle . If I put a penny in a jar every time I put them to my eyes I should have collected the purchase price in the first few years

Best be quick, they have stopped making them, there are a few around for sale at a few places i know but the Conquest DL will replace them imminently

There was a n advert in this weeks Shooting Times for the Conquest DL and the advert even mentioned the Duralyt.

The Conquest is slightly dearer I think but i'm unclear as to what the differences are. Has anyone had look through the new model?
