Mentalmac
BBQ, Charcoal, BBQ lightingstuff, Lighter, beer and lots of it. Bucket or inflatable beer cooler bucket to put water in to keep beers cool... Bottle of whiskey for later night Then if you have any spare room - change of clothes. Edit to say buy this tent of this member and you can get your mates to chip in and you'll all have a bargain! http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/topic/282330-urban-escape-4-person-tent/ Edited May 1, 2014 by Mentalmac
Lord Geordie
Stove, disposable plates and cutlery to save washing! dried and tinned foods, pots to cook in. spare clothes incase it chucks down! a mobile phone incase you get lost. Money rather than a card, incase you can't find a cash point.

ack-ack
bucket barbeque is your friend! They may be cheap, small and appear flimsy but they are surprisingly robust and efficient. we are all getting our own tents because if we get 1 big tent and someone does something stupid and damages is or is sick it will ruin our time Good point, it will also avoid those awkward brokeback mountain moments. Mentalmac
were allowed fires so don't think that will be taking any charcoal but agree with the rest Haha I would still take a BBQ and charcoal - fires are great but sometimes a BBQ is cleaner and easier to cook with. My dad does survival weekends with the local scouts and I enjoy going along to help too. Crazy kids never listen on bivvy making and always get soaked over night. Nothing beats building your own bivvy and having a fire and eating off it. I would always opt to make a stew now over a fire rather than toasting an animal over a fire - seems to dry them out too much. Rabbit and squirrel stew, a few beers and a nice single malt or two after for me! bucket barbeque is your friend! They may be cheap, small and appear flimsy but they are surprisingly robust and efficient. Good point, it will also avoid those awkward brokeback mountain moments. Not forgetting the typical camping group nookie you here whilst camping! Last time I went a few tents gave one couple a round of applause when they finished, they even had to put more air in the airbed!

Zapp
Get a cot bed or a decent camping mat. If you cant get comfortable you wont sleep well. If you dont sleep well you will get fatigued, especially if you are out for a few days.

KFC
If you get one of the pop-up tents then watch youtube vids on how to fold them up again. I get hours of entertainment watching people struggle with them

Mentalmac
Another thing: A shovel. Always comes in handy for lots of uses on a camp site. Don't take along speakers and play annoying music though - or if you do keep it quiet. Another useful thing and as girly as it sounds - alcohol hand gel stuff - keep sanitised when possible around food so that you don't all get ill. I went to world superbikes a few years back with some mates and was so drunk when BBQ'ing my burgers I kept dropping them on floor and I ended up eating more grass than burgers... and rarely washed hands. Suffice to say I got quite poorly after!

Lord Geordie
Oh! Please take a rubbish bag for all your carp and pop it in the wheely bin on the way out I used to get a little narked watching people dump their waste in the hedgerows of the sites, or leave bags behind as they left.
