bullet boy
Went out to see Farmer Friend last evening cos he's just broke his collar bone. If you read my earlier post "Lone Rabbit with Huntsman" you will see I went up to see if my friend needed help out on the Farm. After him having the best Lambing in the last 2 Seasons I not only took my Huntsman Air-rifle but also my .22-250 rifle with my fantastic Archer NV unit. I've recently bought an XSearcher Torch with Red Led and took this as well to try out. I made my way to my shooting spot which is a set of big rocks overlooking a large area of land! I scanned the area with my Archer monocular and saw nothing.I then started to use my WAM Fox call and put XSearcher on and saw eyes of a Fox about 300 yards away. This boy was very Wiley indeed and wasn't really interested as he was heading further away from me. I thought change your plan- I then started to lip squeak and with a different sound he then was coming a little closer but could see was still unsure at the sound cos he was very slow moving. I think a good 10-15 mins had gone by when he was within 230 yards and knew he wasn't coming any closer so off went the XSearcher and on went the Archer NV unit. With a good safe backstop I decided to take the shot. The sound of the Norma 50gr bullet hit its mark.I went to retrieve the fallen Fox but left it there until now cos I wanted to range it with my Rangefinder.I exactly read 230 yards on my Rangefinder. I'm very pleased with the distance of the shot especially with my Archer NV unit. Pics to follow.
bullet boy
He was mangy on his tail and rear end. In this pic you will see in the distance the Rocks I shoot from to where Fox fell-230 yards.

al4x
Nice shooting but have to say I'd bin the red lamp when using the archer. Otherwise any that you would get that are lamp shy get prior warning. The ir led with the archer is a cracking combo, 230 is a long way what scope have you got it on?
