Hi everyone ,

well I have had a right nightmare this weekend with regards shooting , decided to take the day off on Friday , and all was looking good , turned up , got set up and it wasn't long before some plum with a petrol strimmer started about 75 yrd behind me in the next door field , I kid you not when I turned around to see what he was doing , I saw this young lad standing in a field up to his knees in grass and weeds with about 10 acres in front of him to do . I couldn't believe it . I thought he has either annoyed his boss or he is on community service , anyway as you can imagine nothing would come near me , so I packed up with the right hump !

so today I thought I would try again , I still had all my gear in the Van ( apart from gun/carts ) turned up at shoot and it was boiling ,really humid and when I looked, the only jacket I had was my big padded camo deer hunter !!! I couldn't believe it . thought I had my mesh suit in the back .well I was absolutely boiling , my jacket was soaked and every time I went to swing the gun I seemed to be fighting with a wet/sweaty jacket ha-ha ..... what a dim-Witt . and of course being in a hide with a roof on meant no air in there it was nearly unbearable , and then to top it off , matey with the strimmer from the other day , came out with a chainsaw ( not happy ) but he packed it after 5 mins .

it was just one of those days when it just don't seem to flow , still a very big lesson learned today ........ make sure I have the right jacket in the van !!

managed to get some footage , ended up with a mixed bag of 66 . carrion , rooks , jackdaws and a few woodies

anyway , usual set up with 28 grm NSI # 6 and a full choke

I haven't watched the video yet, will do that later. Why didn't you just wear no jacket, Stevo?

With my lilly white skin motty I stood out like a sore thumb .

The day was ok . I just made it hard work for myself . Still we all have days like that now and then .

In fact you have just reminded me . I wanted to ask you . When you wear your cam all day do you get a headache ? I don't have it very tight . Just enough to stop it wobbling about . I just wondered if anyone else has a similar problem . I would like to be able to keep it on all all day . But about 20 mins at a time is about it .

Thank you pest control .

I think there a great cartridge . There cheep . Seem to hold a good pattern out to some respectable ranges . To be honest I sort of dismissed them until a good friend of mine gave me a slab . Since then I have been sold on them .

Having my cam on makes my head hurt a bit. I do take it off every now and again to give my head a rest. The ache is less when I wear my thick balaclava (but only in winter).

yeah I know what you mean motty , its does my head in because I end up missing loads of footage with the cam , I am working on customizing an old pair of head phones , just have to see if it works , I don't want to put a barrel mount on , as I want to see the bird come in on the film . Still im sure I'll sort it .

Another good video and good shooting. :good:

cheers mate , HURRY UP AND GET YOUR CAM SORTED !!! .......... please ;-)
