yickdaz
I owned one from 2005 to 2009, decent gun used to shoot a lot of clays with it until I bought a miroku mk38 and the white onyx felt left out so I sold it

CaptainBeaky
Nice basic no-frills Beretta. Does everything the more expensive ones do, but without the nice wood or engraving. Had one for a number of years and liked it, but it had to go to pay for a new front diff on the truck :(
Westward
The WO was just another version of the 686 family from the early 2000s. It wasn't a good seller because the 686E was a more appealing gun for almost the same price. 686s of the period are all the same mechanically and were only distinguished by the cosmetics, although the 686E had toughened firing pins and regulated triggers. welshwarrior
Good gun simple decoration looks better to some than the scroll engraved action. 68 action all that same really.
Crumpler1991
Is there much differance between a 686 and a 682 apart from price?
welshwarrior
The older 682 had a wider action than the 686/7 The 682 is finished better inside. The older 682 is a lot more gun than the modern narrow one.
TIGHTCHOKE
Is there much differance between a 686 and a 682 apart from price? The 686 was designed as a working gun whilst the 682 was produced for Competitive Clay Shooting.
Westward
Is there much differance between a 686 and a 682 apart from price? Since the early 90s and the arrival of the 682 Gold (pre Gold E) the only differences have been in features like replaceable barrel shoulders and adjustable trigger on the 682s. The 682 Gold E and 686E were built in the custom shop by gunsmiths rather than in the main factory and are better finished internally but the actions are no different and are still assembled from investment castings just like all the other 686/687 family. The Gold Es have Optima barrels with extended chokes and are supposed to have better wood - although I've seen plenty with "Grade 1.5" stocks. Earlier 682s are another story with beefier, wider actions that were hand fitted and built to last using forged parts instead of investment castings, had fully vented Mobil barrels and beautiful wood. Sco77w
Basic 686 without the fancy engraving or wood - I like mine +1 I had the Onyx that pre dated the white / black Onyx. It was a great gun and I preferred the Matt parkerised finish on it. A solid 686 without the fancy engraving / wood at a fraction of the price
Berettacocker
Get a used 80's model 682 you won't be disappointed , much better gun than the 682e IMO 686 onyx fine gun, but the old 682 was the first " proper " sporting/trap gun, just ask MR Digweed he won many titles in the eighties with it !
