Blunderbust
After nearly four weeks of my rifle being split up and sent away to get some work done I now have it back. Having been thinking it is near time for me to change my 243 Tika T3 and not having a clue what to get I decided just to keep it and tart it up a bit. I sent my bolt away to Dave at Valkyrie rifles to have a larger handle fitted a metal shroud and some Barley fluting done. When they were returned I then arranged with James at Jager Sporting Arms at Colchester to have them all Cerakoted along with the Barrel, action and mod. Both companies did exactly what they said they would and the work is absolutely fantastic, thank you both very much. I collected the goodies back from James yesterday on my way down to spend some time with (Ireland 71), Vince and do a shot comp today. I have now re- assembled the gun and cant believe the change and how good the rifle looks when it is all put together and mounted on my new Boyd's stock. I have spoken to James at Jager SA and I am going to get him to re-barrel the rifle for me in 6 months time, as by that time it is going to need doing. All I need to do now is get out and zero and start to bowl those Roe Bucks over. I would recommend both parties that I dealt with, I love it when you discuss a plan, get confirmation of what is requested and a time for completion. Then of course receiving the items back in time as promised and in the excellent condition that mine did .

Blunderbust
That's very nice! Is it possible to cerakote the scope aswell? I must admit I did think about it and I am sure James would have done it but I just could not do it to a 2 year old, 2 grand scope. Possibly in a couple of years ones it has been knocked about a bit I might just think differently but as for now .

Blunderbust
fruity, I agree with you, I will get out as soon as is possible. Adrian, yes it is a totally different beast now, the only down side is it is a wee bit heavier than in it original state. This might not be a bad thing though, time will tell. Mick, love it mate, I will defo be looking at a nice new tarty barrel for it just after the new year. Paul, we will find out mate, it will also give the wee man a chance to fire it in . Paul T
Blunderbust, we have very similar tastes Here's my Remmy 700 in .243 - also topped with a Swaro scope. I'd also thought of having the bolt done with a barley twist...

shootgun
Dorin, how did your stalking go today? We haven't seen a bloody thing Jimmy, been for a evening stalk, weather was carp with some really heavy showers so i rekon the deers were looking for shelter but we had a really enjoyable evening and a good laugh with Vince, Jim and Trevor. Very pleased with the new Sako and the zeroing session, after the bore sighting, the first shot landed half an inch to the left of the bulls eye and got a 3 shots clover leaf group . Vince was struggling a bit with grouping in the begginig but i showed him how to do things properly Looking forward to the next outing
