LPJA
Been out a few times in the last few weeks, some birds have come into the pattern but allot have just come and sat in a tree nearby. Im puzzled?!? Is it too hot for them to feed? Is there too much food around this time of year? Is my pattern not right? Would be nice to improve my bags, I'm taking 10s and 20s here and there but its not magic 100!

motty
Find the field the pigeons really want. Things will become easier then. It is never too hot for pigeons to eat.

rich1985
Don't set up under or too near a tree! They won't have the option to land in 1 then!
barley
depends what time ur shooting but i find from 1 oclock onwards they decoy better because they want to feed more in the afternoon so they expect to see birds and dont think anythings out of place. i decoyed the edge of a big wood over laid barley last week for 3 hours and managed to get 26 and every bird dropped like a bomb to my decs

Continental Shooter
I found afternoons better....just coz they have to eat before bedtime, so, it's a must for them and a good chance for me!! In the morning, they will have a choice of wonder to another field for a look, and they might never come back... Also, i normally check the ground under the trees to see where they like to sit and set up nearby with some deeks on them so, if they decide to sit rather than land, they will go for the deeks. berettadevon
I thought the same as you thinking that the heat we are having at the moment might make them stop eating and stay in the shade . . . . . . er hell no!!!!!!! Had a nice surprise from the boss at work this morning telling me they owed me a days holiday and asked me when i wanted to take it, so i replyed right see ya tommorrow morning!!! got home wife and daughter sat there eating there breakfast looking at me a little puzzled as to why i was home. So after i explained it all i got the second surprise of the day, wife tells me they going out today so she told me to get me gun and ****** off out myself . . . hehe i dont need to telling twice!!! So and hour later im on the edge of the fully cut barley field but only saw a few pigeons about, well i stayed there till about an hour ago and omg what a busy day, 500 carts fired but sadly only took home 327 birds. oh dear wifey im sorry i seem to have bought another 500 carts for sunday hehe!!!!
