bicykillgaz
Hi gents, After seeing my mates T20 with focusable lens in action it's got me lusting after one. I've been looking on fleabay and can't decide on weather to go for a genuine model or a cheap import. Is there much difference? Are the genuine ones really worth more than twice the price? bicykillgaz
Thanks for that mate, I've had good and bad results with cheap foreign alternatives so was hoping someone may have experience with these in particular. FalconFN
Arn't they all made in China?Yup. A T20 is a cheap Chinese altrnative to nm800.

billytheghillie
what about a ultrafire £9 from the bay, I have one and its excellent.
Mini Magnum
All T20s are copies of the wolf eyes night hunter torch. Quality wise the genuine item is much better.
bicykillgaz
I already use a couple of ultrafire Cree torches with aspherical lenses one in ref one in green but my mates t20 made mine look like a candle! I assumed there was a genuine and a cheap version as some on eBay are more than twice as much as others and the cheaper are all from china. I think I'll give one a try then as my mates is brilliant. I think the ones from the UK are only more expensive as they import them and then add their profit margin. Buying from China will get you the same product cheaper but you'll have to wait a week (or 5) for it.

There is a forum somewhere on here about modifying them. I put aspherical lens in my red ultrafire and its trebled range by making beam tighter. Also you need to make sure you use the more powerfull 3.7v rechargeable batteries with all these cree style torches as a aa size 1.5v will fit many but power greatly reduced. Muddy Funker
I may well give this a try http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Super-Bright-T20-Power-Red-Light-Famous-Cree-XP-E-Led-Flashlight-Torch-Memory-/301276876513?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Hunting_ShootingSports_ET&var=&hash=item4625804ee1Don't need the charger but the switch and extra battery will be useful. Can't really go wrong for 25 sheets providing it works. Although every torch I've ever bought from the bay sent from China has been perfect. billytheghillie
Do theese change mode when you turn them on and off? No, it members your last mode setting.
archiebald
No, it members your last mode setting. Thanks for that, I think ill order one to mount on my scope and use the nm800 for scanning, best of both worlds. Does it remember its last mode with the rat tail switch too? Muddy Funker
Just ordered the full kit. I may do the same, I've got a 501b with lens upgrade and blacked out reflector but I could do with a bit more range. I think this will do the trick.
