Denboy
Hi guys can anyone recommend a good budget bipod for a cz 452 style rifle?
steve_b_wales
These are good. http://www.amazon.co.uk/DB1000-Airgun-Rimfire-Centrefire-Adjustable/dp/B004R1RXAI/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1412686251&sr=8-5&keywords=rifle+bipods You won't beat Harris bipods, but they are more expensive. Peskyfoxs
Try the bay for a Harris, I tried a couple of budget ones and had legs pop out/release randomly. (be careful of fakes though) Edited October 7, 2014 by Peskyfoxs
Remimax
i would stay clear of the cheap ebay bipods unless you have the skills to sort em. usual faults are threads stripping on tightening bar or retaining pins for swivel mount claw fall out. easy fix if your handy with a tig welder ,pile of scrap if your not. not much to go wrong with the extendable feet catches apart from the blade being out of true with its slot on the leg due to coming loose. Muddy Funker
Have a look at JS Ramsbottom web site they do good low price ones that work fine.As I've said before all it's doing is holding up the front end of a rifle it hardly needs to be a feat of engineering. ollie
Have had my deben for over 5 years now, never had a problem Likewise, I have a deben one on my .22 and it has been grand. I have a large Vanguard one on my .223 which is very good. Keep an eye on the other sales section here; quite often Harris bipods come up for 50ish quid. srspower
I hate to play devils advocate, but what's the point in a bipod other than at the range?
ollie
I hate to play devils advocate, but what's the point in a bipod other than at the range? Well I use one very often, especially the long one that is on my .223. Makes long shots at night that bit easier.
srspower
Yeah but doesn't that involve lieing down? Wouldn't shooting sticks be easier and safer given the angle?
stumpy69
I use a bipod on all my rifles perfect for shooting off the bonnet of the truck and can be very useful depending on the lie of the land, not everyone shoots on flat land, about 80% of my shots are off the bipod. Not had any problems with snipersystems bipods got four and all still going strong think I paid about £40 for each one.

ollie
Yeah but doesn't that involve lieing down? Wouldn't shooting sticks be easier and safer given the angle? Nearly all the foxes I have shot the last 2 years have been from bipod. The bipod I use extends to 29" I think, so most of the shots are taken while I am sitting on my *****. If you saw some of the terrain I shoot in, then you would see that the bipod is very useful.
