lexikia
Also just checked and it appears (and I might be wrong) that the place he said he bought them "new" Mark Worthington Jeweler, appear to be a second hand dealer, therefore would not have sold a new watch but a second hand one. Seriously drop a line to the lad that owns Swiss Watch Trader (he is also on Facebook) and tell him what you are after, your budget and he will tell you if your being realistic! Good luck and feel free to drop a PM when you find what you are after. For the record I think the photos he is using in his advert are of genuine watches, he just most likely doesn't own them lol Thanks
chrisjh
He also has this for sale, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rolex-Daytona-/171508441637?pt=UK_Jewelery_Watches_Watches_MensWatches_GL&hash=item27eeb32225 But its the same advert from the Brietling bar the photo's only 21 feedback hits nothing sold for 12 months and he is from Liverpool
ozzy518
Pay on collection. Hmm. Go meet him somewhere , he knows you are carrying cash. On arrival you get accidentally mugged by one of his mates.
HDAV
could they not fake the serial number? trust me iv seen loads of fakes both good and bad and can tell you they are always noticeable as fakes even the good ones you cant fake good quality craftsmanship the cases are the main give away also the winder is often not cast as well as it should be. best thing is to check theres pictures of the inside there usualy is of the legit ones. They could but if paperwork says dealer in italy sold that watch and you have paperwork saying dealer in london (Faked paperwork) then you know its moody. Good point it could be totally genuine but stolen... again a reason to check serial.
kdubya
only 21 feedback hits nothing sold for 12 months and he is from Liverpool also non of his pics show the numbers on either watch lug underside dodgy very dodgy. KW
Marki
Also just checked and it appears (and I might be wrong) that the place he said he bought them "new" Mark Worthington Jeweler, appear to be a second hand dealer, Mark Worthington Jewellers are an approved Breitling dealer that sells used watches. A quick phone call will confirm that the watch is genuine.

Fisherman Mike
Have a look at the watch working first of all..if it is a auto movement the second hand will sweep smoothly around the face and not "tick" around like a quartz movement. If it does tick around then you can be sure its a fake Once you have determined that it is a auto movement the only way to tell for sure is to have the back off and look at the auto movement. The inertia wheel will be secured by three small screws in a triangle on the calibre 01 movement. If it isn't its likely to be mass produced Japanese auto movement. Don't rely on certificates without a purchase receipt..these are easier to fake effectively than the watch itself. I've bought and sold 100,s of top Marque watches over the last 30 years and have always assumed items for sale privately, on ebay particularly are fake unless proved otherwise. Take my advice and buy from a main dealer or specialist second hand dealer.. Turn up with a fist full of notes and be prepared to bargain hard. They expect it. chipper
a good friend is the vice ceo of a very well known italian fashion house, he has no qualms wearing fakes, he even tells me that 99% if not 100% of the circle he mixes with are wearing fakes. i asked him why ? his reply, when you're at this level, people believe what they see. TBH, he's shown me a few real deals, when placed next to his fakes, its almost impossible to tell the difference. The only give away is the tint on the glass. But the most obvious is the weight. i have a seiko diver, it cost me a tad under 100 quid, had it for 18 years, travelled to many places, not missed a beat, never serviced, above all still tells the time. Billy.
Stick the money into an account, save up more and buy one new from a reputable dealer. You can enjoy having all the paperwork, boxes and service guarantees (Only a couple of years mind you). Unless it's a notable second hand one, go for it, but at that price, it seems saving may be a better choice. I saw the eBay listing, it's clearly not a new model then..! Perhaps your taste is for the older style Edited October 30, 2014 by Billy.
keg
Not sure what is meant by tint on the glass? I have a Chrono Avenger in titanium and the glass is tint free. Yes it's genuine bought from a main dealer.
krugerandsmith
If they are that good, save yourself some money and buy a fake one. If they are that good, save yourself some money and buy a fake one. But only buy a Genuine fake not just a fake one.
lexikia
Thanks every one. Put me off for life. Can't afford a new one. Was looking for a decent second hand one recently serviced.
martyn2233
I would say a decent 2nd hand dealer would be looking for about 600-800 more depending on age and condition. A bit of a guess though, but I reckon its a decent price for it. Probably a bit over what you would expect for a trade in price on it. I was very tempted to trade in my Super Avenger for this last week!! https://www.swisswatchtrader.co.uk/watches/breitling/chronomat_44_gmt_ab042011/ However the constant threat of divorce suddenly makes it cost even more!!!! RUN AWAY RUN AWAY!!!! IGNORE ALL PREVIOUS ADVICE BY ME!!! He is well dodgy now that one has popped up!! so did you get this one?
m3vert
No in the end its to similar to my Super Avenger. I have a Panerai GMT so having two GMT is a bit daft really. I am tempted by either older Seadweller, pepsi cola GMT (I know another GMT but they are the biz) or even a Deep Sea. I used to be indecisive but not I'm not so sure!!! halfbee
mine has a blue/purple tint in the crystal when you catch it in the right light a bit like petrol on water.
m3vert
Halfbee its not a tint, its the anti reflective coating that Breitling put on both the inside and outside of the glass that gives it the blue effect. Also means the glass looks crystal clear all the time well until you scratch it that is

The frequencies used by this watch are getting phased out. The new mission watches are going to use the newer bands. Granted, the old frequency will always remain active, but from what I know the new ones will be more sensitive to distress signals. ...from the pub on a Friday night

malkiserow
Ask Fisherman Mike. Better still, he may have one for sale..... He usually does as he buys them from a nice old lady called Mo who trades in fine goods in an Eastend market Seriously, why not just buy it from a reputable source with comeback if there are problems?
