cody123
Hi guy's I'm thinking about buying some electronic ear defenders, anyone out there got any recomendations as to which brand/model, or which to avoid. Many thanks in advance. Cody
Mutiny
I've got a pair of Howard Leight Impact sports which I really like, but I'm considering changing to a pair of electric earplugs which would interfere less with hats etc
Fabhui
Howard Leight for me too!

happy.plinker
I have Howard leight ones, I turn them right up then back a little, this knocks back the slight interference. They're good value for money, bought them from local gun shop so tried them first. jfletch88
I've got some Howard Leight ones as well, no complaints so far, work really well. They've got a 3.5mm jack in them as well so you can plug an ipod or something into them.

Les*1066
+ another for Howard Leight. They are reasonably comfortable, and seem to work as they are supposed to.
Chris Bb
We seem to have this (identical) conversation on an annual basis. Having said that, I like HL's as well.

LeadWasp
Peltor Sportac - Uttings seem to have them at a good price at the moment. Mrs. Leadwasp and I both have a pair and their mics are great even in a breeze. Very good sense of awareness compared to other electronics types I have had. rtaylor
MSA Sordins for me. Mine are 5 years old and still good as new, I changed the batteries for the first time this year. Slim, comfortable, good sound and good sound deadening. Cheeper than a new pair of ears to boot.
roadkill
Do ear defenders ever loose there protection over the years ? Reason i ask is that i own a pair of debens which i find great but they are coming up to 8years old now.
webber
Have a look at the range of Deben electronc ear muffs. They do some around £50. Some of the models are MSA Sordin rebranded Deben. webber
wingy88
are electric ear defenders necessary? im using my ear defenders that i use in my mill at work at the moment?
steve_b_wales
are electric ear defenders necessary? im using my ear defenders that i use in my mill at work at the moment? Not necessary, but handy. Mainly used for clay shooting, where you would need to hear instructions etc, but I have a pair of Howard Leight ones, and using the inbuilt amplifier, I can hear birds etc further away that what the actually are, which is handy when decoying Crows/Jackdaws.
