loriusgarrulus
Been to Aldi today and they have lots of good alcohol in on special deals. Bought a very nice Reisling Auslese Estate bottled Thomas Schmitt 2013 to have with the pheasant tonight. They have some single malt whiskies in one which is 25 year old for £50. Lots of other specials. well worth a look. They were in the central aisle at ours, not where the drinks normally are.

Dbw1shrops
Lol TT I don't I promise ! We used to shop there before my mrs worked there and I think the quality has got better year on year, judging by my local Aldi (Telford, Madeley) it's always busy ! But I do prefer some of the named drinks etc compared, but it's all down to budget 😉 👍 Atb Dave

ferguson_tom
We use Aldi for our main shopping all the time now and have found the quality to be very good and the savings we make are huge compared to the other big names. If you like your ready meals then not as good as tesco etc but if you make your own dinners (if you know what i mean) then its great. As such I have been trying most of their beers and ciders which so far have been all good. My favorite lager at the moment is the bottled bavaria, just be careful you dont pick up the low alcohol canned stuff, doesnt taste bad but I still cant see the point in low alcohol beer Have grabbed a few bottles of wine as well and had no complaints from the mrs or people who come for dinner. loriusgarrulus
They have started doing some ready Chinese and Indian Meals in the chill fridge at the back. Very tasty when you can be bothered to cook. Also have some frozen ones too. Occasionally do Meal for 2 in a bag as well.

loriusgarrulus
Even more varieties of beer in now. Bought some Theakston's Old Peculiar today. Memories of drinking that in the Old Dungeon Ghyll at Langdale during a walking holiday. Was good and walked passed the boxes of Alcoholic chocolate truffles.
