pigeon controller
Friday saw us heading out at 08.00 looking at rape fields after five farms we had seen flocks of up to twenty or thirty then we came on a field with about one hundred sitting in the trees . JDog had posted earlier in the week asking the question why do they sit in the trees on the edge of rape fields . This field was classic, all in trees facing the wind and no birds joining . We decided to give it a go and set up on the windward edge of the field ten on frames and two on the magnet the first hour was perfect every bird set for the pattern and paid the price. It then started to slow up and at mid day we were debaiting whether to pack up or not . DB had promised forty birds for his local curry house and it was typical when you want a bag its always difficult, He was looking forward to his " Balti Pigeon". It started to pick up for a bit and then went dead so we packed up at 14.00 and picked up sixty pigeon. We went for a ride round to try and find birds for Saturday. We found a maize stubble field with a good number of pigeons and crows on it , so we went to the farm to ask permission. The farmer would only let us shoot one day and as long as we shot the crows he was not bothered about the pigeons. So Saturday saw us heading straight out of the city to this farm , when we arrived at 09.00 it had about twenty crows on the field so we set up the hide and put the pigeon decoys and the magnet out to the left of the hide , and waited , two jackdaws responded to the Primos Caller and they were put out as decoys on the righthand side of the hide. We had steady shooting all day and when we finished at 15.30 we had birds all over the field , in the picture we had fortyeight pigeons and one hundred and fortyfive crows and jackdaws. When I got home I text a picture to the farmer and the reply was " shoot whenever you want" Result!!!

JDog
If you pluck them you could take the corvids to the curry house.
pigeon controller
If you pluck them you could take the corvids to the curry house. Why do they like eating curry , perhaps I should use it as a bait in the fields???
