Davyo
Well I decided to go roosting, set off at 2.15 , 30 minute run down the road end up 45 mins due to traffic,so was pushing it to get into the roost wood.Pulled up outside the wood in time for the 1st birds, jumped out grabbed a pocket full of carts and stuck 3 in the auto .******,realised when looking up the rib for the 1st shot no choke. I had only left them in the safe at home,so unloaded went back to the 4x4 and cried.Decided to drive around to the other side of the field and sit with the flask and bino's watching them teeming in Got home and put the chokes in the car and that's where they are staying. fenboy
I never store a gun without a choke in , it could save on a expensive accident. Edited November 30, 2014 by fenboy
Scully
Why not store your chokes in your gun instead of your safe and then it wont happen again?
Davyo
Why not store your chokes in your gun instead of your safe and then it wont happen again? Semi auto will not fit in safe with choke in (extended) . My other semi ato,s I have had have either been fixed or inverted chokes. I am limmited to the size of my cabinet due to being positioned under the stairs. Edited November 30, 2014 by Davyo

Davyo
Mine will not fit either , I take the barrel off and leave the choke in.I think this is what I will do,plus it's have the benefit of not banging the barrel or stock,Edit, done just need a foam thing to go half way down, think I will transport it this way as well as I was struggling to gloss the gun slip even with the choke out. Davyo
I also had the added problem of it not fitting in my old gun bag as well as the cabinet. So after advise off Fenboy I have broke it down and stored it with the choke in.Just purchased a break down hard case tonight to put it in when going shooting,so I can take it from the cabinet broke and put it straight in the case & put it together when I get to the roost & strip down before a come home. Paul taylor
Eh up Davy. Not just me then, air rifle pellets but no magazine for me at 05.30 this morn. Was not chuffed but just about managed to load through the tiny hole where mag should be, not easy with cold fingers and the excitement of magpies turning up at first light though! Hope your keeping well

Hope your keeping well It's my old age mate, but saying that it reminds me one wet day during the summer my son"a dizzy 15yr old" decided to have a look out. After driving 25mls to permission we sat in the 4x4 waiting for the rain to ease off. When it became apparent he still had his flipping slippers on. Guest cookoff013
You can tuck a spare choke in the butt or in the magazine. (I've done that with supernova)

srspower
You could have used the gun without the choke in. Wouldn't that damage the threads or barrel?
