birdsallpl
Fantastic photo. Falconry is one of the true hunting sports and it is great to see in recent years it is having a revival. My son was a falconer 20 odd years ago but we kept and flew only the lower value birds. He aspired to have a true falcon, but in them days the price was prohibitive for most. It is good that they are now slightly more obtainable for some.

Unfortunately with the Arab market the price of peregrines has increased dramatically for females. Not sure what the going price will be next year but you could pay up to £3,000 for a female so they seem to be falling back into the category of being prohibitive for most. rich1985
I would love to see a falcon worked on game, I put an ad on here a month or so ago asking if any one would like to come on my shoot at the end of the season in pursuit of a pheasant or 2 but had no takers. I've always fancied a female goshawk but just haven't got the time and knowledge. Edited December 2, 2014 by rich1985

I did as well, plenty of rabbits but no one answered, Terrific photo by the way, I rescued a Peregrine from the water at the bottom of my croft after it had been in dispute about the ownership of a lapwing it had caught, with a gang of hoodies (crows), it was ringed and I got all its info from BTO, It was very happy to take cut up steak from my hand, and I've still got the scar to prove it

I would love to see that video, it's not often you see a peregrine taking game from the floor especially so close to human habitation.
