JDog
This particular flock of pigeons have had two weeks on the rape and they have now reverted back to beech mast. This is good and bad. Good because they fly back to their roosting wood in late morning to digest before heading out again and bad because they cannot be shot in the woods where they are feeding. I set up on a rape field on their route back out to feed at 11:15. The position was interesting as my hide was on a high seat between two woods. The birds were coming from the distance, along the wood on my left and then crossing between that wood and the one I was set up near. The first bird in the bag was a Jay. My shot put up a hundred pigeons from all around and I took three out in four shots. In the two hours I was out not a single bird decoyed even though I had the rotary out. Instead they came to my right, to my left and some overhead. This was not decoying but flightline shooting and very good it was too. The bag was 47 pigeons and the Jay. One photo shows my hide position on the high seat and the other shows the woods in the distance where the pigeons were coming from.

JDog
Good shooting jdog . Do them woods hold much woodcock ? I have not seen a woodcock in those woods this year. If I did I wouldn't shoot one as there is a game shoot on the estate.
