Funny looking Rabbit

took the new Wolverine c .22 out tonight for a short spell on the rats and to see if i could bag a rabbit or two,,i had 4 rats and then i spotted a rabbit at 35yrds approx,

now i,ve been shooting just over 40 years and i have never come across anythig like this before,, i shot the rabbit at 35 yrds approx but could not find it due to the amount of what can only be explained as shrubbery so i decided to get the springer out and see if he could find it, well after two minutes looking he appeared back with the rabbit in his mouth and when i took the rabbit off him i flicked the torch on to see where i had hit the rabbit in the head,

what i saw shocked me, the rabbit had 1 inch curly teeth protruding from its mouth, the top teeth were so twisted and deformed they actually stopped the rabbit closing its mouth and the two bottom teeth one tooth was about an inch long and protruding forwards out of its mouth and the other bottom front tooth had snapped in half and was ful of tooth decay, to say the rabbit needed a good seeing to at a dentist is an understatement, I have in all the years ive shot never seen anything like this, i was totally shocked

has anyone else ever seen this before

Yes !!! ... Rabbit equal rodent species (ever growing teeth) ... his diet hasn't been sufficient to wear down its teeth .. if it was a domestic rabbit, problem.is solved with nail clippers, (lve done it a good few time)....good shooting mate .. the .22 is for men lol ... bet the rats were stopped dead in their tracks

Rabbits teeth are kept short by grinding against one another and they grow continually throughout the rabbit's life. If by way of an accident (more usually it's hereditary in domestics) the teeth become misaligned (maloccluded) and grow out like long tusks. It doesn't take as long as you think to get to the length shown in the picture.

I've always culled ones occurring in my rabbitry and I dispensed with one rabbit breed altogether when it started happening more regularly.

You did him a favour Evo anyway
