Elk hunter
I've been out today getting my range ready in the snow, for next Monday's Social Range Day I'm having. Had a friend come and help set a few things up to save me some time Monday morning. Digging the ground out to make a 5 shooting benches level, targets to reposition and markers to put out. Got my truck stuck twice but after many choice words I manage to get out the mud. So I'll have two shooting positions. First is 100,150,200 yard full size red deer targets and I'll pin the paper targets onto. Second is 7 roe deer cutouts and exploding potatoes 100,150,200,250,350 yards. After we'd finished could not resist having a go. Looking forward to seeing a few forum members and friends on the day I've not seen in a while. Andrew. Just trying the benches. 100 yrd 200 yrd 350 yrd

Elk hunter
They were copied from a foldaway shooting bench I've had for twenty years. Bought it from Cabeles in the USA and remember it was in the bargin cave, shipped to my door £60. I'll do a thread when I get time on what you need. reggiegun
You home load for it?
Elk hunter
Yes I do home load for all my c/f rifles, but I will admit although I'm not a fan of factory ammo I was given a box of RWS 150gr sp in 308. They were exceptional a 10 pence piece covers 3 rounds @ 100 yards, just too bloody expensive. Andrew
zx10mike
do you shoot on ranges andrew ?member of a club?
Elk hunter
No I'm not a member of a range now used to belong to minsterly. I enjoy shooting targets but find paper boring, but enjoy shooting deer targets and apples as I can stick them at any range up to 400 yards. It is better for practice, ranging and accuracy plus way more fun. Andrew
Dave-G
Great looking benches and even better looking scenery - looks like you live in a very nice part of rural Leicestershire.
The Mighty Prawn
That TRG is an absolute treat, if I could sell the wife I'd cuddle that at night! Gutted I can't make your range day Andrew but fingers crossed for something later in the year, something deer shaped!
steve_b_wales
Here's a link to an American website that has plans to make your own shooting bench. http://www.renovation-headquarters.com/plans-shooting-bench.html#.VLpeTkesWYg
