simon6ppc
orite chaps,we have one or two early lambs being born around here now so i had a look out last night as the conditions looked brilliant for a change, very dark,a slight mist, not to much and had been raining so foxes do like eating worms, any way got to one of my favorite valleys where i have shot loads over the the years and seen two sets of eyes, the next thing one of them set off in to the sky and seemed to land in a tree,i thought i had flipped mi lid,but it was an owl, but the other eyes were blinking at me,so i did a nice lip squeak and they started to come, for two hundred yards in front of me was rushes and a no shot area so when she got just short of the rushes i stopped her and shot her with my 22ppc,it was a vixen,in the exit hole there was worms every where, she had been having a right feast before i turned up,half hour later her boyfriend turned up in the same spot but the fog moved in more and i couldn,t take the shot..but always next time.. The releasing of foxes is or was quite a common occurrence around here some years ago. Apart from being illegal its was just ridiculously silly releasing foxes with amputated limbs. It's not so common now though, I think they had a tip off the farmer shot them shortly after they released them.
