Dr D
Shot thousands of rats in pig pens. They are both rats. Adult and youngster.
Greenhunter
My first thought was ...top=rat bottom = woodmouse. GH

Richie10
You sure you guys even spend anytime outside? As I first said both rats. Mice are completely different. Now can any of you tell the difference between a Wood mouse and a yellow necked fieldmouse, I bet many have never come across one.

Fisherman Mike
The size of the ears confirm its a Rat. The ears of a House, Wood or Field Mouse are roughly half the length of its head.

Shame it wasn't a red flash of fur on them, would have made the species much more entertaining to talk about.

If only they were all colour coordinated so the PW massive would be able to ID what they are killing!
Mentalmac
If only they were all colour coordinated so the PW massive would be able to ID what they are killing! Haha, true true. At least it's not insects (especially SPI's) that we are ID'ing here - that would possibly cause a few fights. Whilst trying to work out ID on a pest during a survey I had a customer once say "I don't care what it is, it's furry and I want it dead"... Haha, legend. I used to find it all very interesting - much to the joking of fellow colleagues and friends... Remember once having someone ask me what pest they had (a bakers) and it turned out to be a grain weevil, and when looking through my X10 glass I said "it's a Weevil, you can see by it's rostrum" to which the employee burst out laughing thinking I was talking about a 'thingy'... I managed to keep a straight and bemused face on me and made the whole situation go rather awkward :-)
