DazzJo
Wowsers! Checked out the tread on my Navara and is running very low, Amber/red actually but this is the first 4x4 I've owned and don't know which tyres to start looking at. I've been told BF Goodrich but bit to pricey for me at £130 a corner without fitment. I do 40 miles a day getting to and from work so don't fancy them being loud but I need good tread for when I'm in the field during the season and also whilst I'm out pigeon shooting. All help greatly appreciated in advance
felly100
I've got Michelin Latitude Cross on my truck. About a £100 a corner. Great in anything but thick mud. Brilliant on the road.
Karl_h
Have a look on blackcircles, they do bf's and some falken a/ts. Just bought the bf's so no real report on how loud they are or their road manners but they seem to be the tyre of choice for most.
al4x
BFG's or general grabbers are ideal for on / off road mix and aren't too loud and more importantly don't hammer your fuel economy. Though I did buy my current truck with yokohama geolander at's on and they don't see too bad. The good thing with the first two is that you will get up to 60k out of a set so the cost is spread over a long time.
ferguson_tom
I put General Grabbers on my old Terrano, my dad now has it and tyres still have loads of tread on even after 25000 miles, plenty of grip both on and off road and not too noisy. My Sorento will be having a set by the end of the year.
stumpy69
I do minimum 60 miles per day travelling to work and have BFG a/t fitted, not any noisier than the road tyres it had when I bought it, they might seem expensive but they are very good value as they last forever, my last set did just over 75,000 miles current ones have done just over 50,000 and still plenty of life left. DazzJo
That's great BFG's are expensive but I've looked into them and seem to be cheaper than the tyres I've got on now. I've only had the truck since 29th Nov 2014 and it's got Goodyear Wranglers 255/65/17 on at the moment, I've looked into how much they are but I won't go there

michufc
I had some BFG at on a Landy I had yes they were pricy but the lasted for ages and never let me down and I never got stuck and I went to some off road sites in it

Harnser BFG's in sales are gone but they are a great tyre 50-60K easily out them I had General Grabber AT's (new tread style) they were good off road but only got 20 odd K out them & they were noisier than the more aggressive looking BFG AT
Tam
I do 50 miles a day to work & 20 + K a year - AT's do hammer MPG to the tune of 4-8 mpg
shoot and be safe
If you have 16" rims then bfg all terrains. If you have 17" rims, then you are limited to choice. I DON'T recommend Cooper discovery AT3s (useless on mine in the slippy stuff(wet grass)). Unless you are buying remoulds/retreads,£130 a pop is about right
Essex Keeper
I use event tyres spot on service and cheap 4x4 tyres I use hanook A/T Just as good as bfg
al4x
do they last as long as bfg's though. Having had bfg's and grabber at2's the next set I get will be bfg much better off road and the same on

Ridgeway Redneck
I've got general grabbers on my navara, awesome off road and not as noisey as other all terrain tyres I've had. Done 30k on these and going to replace them with like for like!
Alycidon
Had Grabber ATs on my Disco, no increase in noise or discomfort, 120,000 miles life given no punctures. Got BFG ATs on my current `Defender, they were on it when I bought it. Done 125,000 miles on them now. still another 20,000 or so in them. Secret is to go All Terrain not Mud Terrain, MTs can get a bit noisy. A

That is very very rapid wear. A Edited March 4, 2015 by Alycidon
