Dunkield
Odd subject I know, but it was brought to my attention at the weekend that I may be out of step with the rest of the world. I went to a gamefair with 3 mates, all of who are fairly 'normal' whatever that means. All 3 bought those leather cowboy style hats, and couldn't believe that I didn't want one as well I would add they were all fairly sober at the time. I can't understand the flat cap thing either, especially on younger people, if I wanted to look 10 years older I would grow a beard So what do you wear, and what would you never wear? Poacher
Don't wear any hats except at the moment, but i'm looking for a flatcap to match my coat (got to match ) I'd never wear a trillby like the fool off bargain hunt
Oly
Have flat cap, Ozzy fur felt bushman hat, wool felt hat brim hat, summer straw hat...would wear nearly anything to keep a beady eye off my thinning head of hair!
pin
Flat caps are ok on formal shooting days, otherwise deerhunter camo cap Leather cowboy hats you say, all I can think of is brokeback mountain
Dunkield
Leather cowboy hats you say, all I can think of is brokeback mountain Despite a steady stream of **** taking from me throughout the day about line dancing etc they all seemed very proud of their purchases, I just can't get my head round it, I am glad I am not alone... mexican bob
There are lot of cowboy hats over here. Mostly made of straw like Resistol and felt like Stetson. I've seen leather cowboy hats, but that was in Manhatten. The fellas wearing them didn't look like cowboys though.... in the alley by the allymo, Bob
Axe
I dont do the sun well so I generally wear a hat in the summer to keep my head cool. I tend to get head aches otherwise. So in the field its a real tree cap, at the game fairs its normally one of those Aussie cowboy hats in tan. I also have a cloth hat similar to the cricketers hats that gets turned up at the sides to resemble a flatter sort of cowboy hat not a very good description i know
Pedro
Flat cap when it's peeing down 'cos I can't stand hoods and when it's absolutely freezing a wooly hat. Decoying it's a cammo hat. On the beach it's a baseball cap, (but that's the only place and its generally because I've had too much sun). Rest of the time nothing, oh, apart from work where I've got a cap with a slashed peak and sides pulled in to make me look even more like a Nazi P. M ROBSON
I wear a wide brim hat for stalking, it's said that deer have pretty poor eyesight but see movement and shapes well. They associate humans with the characteristic silhouette of the upper torso and head, a wide brim hat helps break that up. I've had deer 15 yards away looking straight at me while standing still without spotting me. Mark.
kip270
Sometimes wear a Baseball cap (used to wear one all the time, couldn't be bothered to do anything with my hair), wear my realtree one when shooting. When in Oz last year my mate wanted a Real Roo Bush Hat, so i got him one & yet to see him wear it Some people suit them, most do not however. My Dad wears a Cowboy hat when on stage though but i think it suits him He's the one in the red shirt
njc110381
I have a Tilley hat for summer, as I also get a bad head if I get too hot. At work when I'm out for 8 hours I fill it with water, let it soak in, then slap the lot over my head! Great feeling! I wouldn't wear a chavvy cap, not my thing
SNAKEBITE
Being as bald as a cue ball I like to wear some sort of hat in the Summer. I go for the Aussie Bush hat. When I walked the dog in the rain I used to wear a flat cap, kept the rain off my goggles. In the cold i wear a beanie hat. It really is a case of the situation but I do like wearing hats. Oh but they have to be taken off indoors and worn the right way round at all times.

Dunkield
I bought one a bit like this to go driven boar shooting. 1) to keep my head warm 2) so I didn't get shot! I wear it dog walking and shooting if it is raining hard, as it stops the water going down the back of my neck The 'cowboy' hats to which I refer are the Australian sort that Axe has just admitted to owning
MC
Stuart, That hat looks like the ones girls wear at private schools. I have an aussie bush hat that I wear for shooting and dog walking so less of the P**S taking. If it is cold I have got a beanie hat and for clay shooting I wear a beaseball cap. SNAKEBITE
My favorite hat which I foolishly sold was a leather pork pie hat. Worn with a wife beater on a Summers day I looked like a New York Pimp!
