The oficial statistics put benefit fraud at less than 1% the great scam was demonising the disabled and jobless and dont forget the amount of money spent "sorting" this problem massively outstrips anything they could of saved.

The wife and I decided to have a good old drive out and about today as it seemed reasonable weather and we must have covered about 150 miles in total just cruising along. In all of the years that I have seen general elections I have never seen so few political posters in peoples gardens ECT. I only saw >> 2 x Green 1 x Labour (A big one) 0 x Liberal a couple of Cons but a fair few UKIP. This has no link to how people might vote on the day but to me it seems as if there is a massive apathy to even engage with this process. I wonder how many people will actually bother to turn out and how this will effect the process whereby in certain areas Cons or Lab will would nearly always win even if they put a baboon up as the party candidate.

Yes but benefit bashing allows the tax dodgers and payers of the min wage (quite a few on here  ) to feel morally superior.

But you'll be dancing in the streets when Libour end up running the show with the help of the SNP with an overal percentage of the vote possibly less than the Conservatives.

To be honest we all don't have a clue how this will pan out. There could be some shocks either way. I wouldn't read too much into people saying that everybody they have spoken to will vote UKIP. Everybody I have spoken to says they will vote Conservative. It's just the type of people we mix with and doesn't reflect a true cross section of society.

I think UKIP will get 1-3 seats. As I said there could be a few shocks which would take that up to 5. government will be formed of a alliance of Libour/SNP/PC and one of the NI parties (can't remember which one is which).

I think Farage will struggle to get his seat due to strong tactical voting. In which case UKIP will be dead in 2 years. UKIP is Farage.

But as I said who knows.

I will be happy if the con men are ousted  as the way things are going the electorate are looking like they will never again give a direct majority to one party, and with the seemingly onward march towards proportional representation we may never see them being allowed to rise against the less well off ever again whilst at the same time feathering the nests of the top lads, ooh just the thought eh!

i think Nate Silver said it will go this way Conservative Party would get 283 seats and the opposition Labour party would have 270. Scottish National Party to win 48 seats, the Liberal Democrats 24, Democratic Unionist Party eight, UK Independence Party one and others to get 16 seats.

its anybodys guess who will do deals with who

Nate Silver is a yank.

He knows **** all about the British and how they're likely to vote. It's the same reason Axelrod and Crosby have have ****ed up the Labour and Tory campaigns. Negative campaigns may well work in the US and Australia but the British don't like it and will often actively vote against any negative campaigning.

It takes a Brit to understand the British psyche, Johnny Foreigner simply doesn't get it.

Where do you live then? It's not on your profile.

Or is it a dirty little secret?

I haven't seen many posters at all around my way. The odd large Conservative ones in fields, one lib dem, one Labour, no UKIP, no greens.

I think the battle is being fought on social media nowadays not on the doorstep like it used to be.

You could well be right.

Very few boards round here, in fact I'd say there were far more for the Euro elections last year.

There was a big Tory one at the end of the road, but only to be expected as the chap is a local Tory councillor, nice chap too.

I did feel a little bad when I set fire to it, but needs must. ;)

That made me chuckle :)

For the first time ever i have seen quite a few Conservative boards in this part of Fife, I damn near had to stop the car to make sure.

No UKIP as nobody standing in this ward.

Edit: Well played KW, that last post made me laugh too.

That's where i believe you are wrong, it's not working for the vast majority, there are certainly some benefiting from the cons policys, but it's not working for the large majority, the disabled have been hounded, the average worker is not better off ,what is given in one hand is taken with a tax somewhere else,we have people relying more on food banks than we have ever had ,young people can no longer afford to get on the housing ladder because of an overinflated pricing system on properties.

We are stuck in europe unable to pass many of our own laws,we are told we cannot stop anyone moving freely in europe even if they have a criminal record, every day more and more laws are block fed through europe. Our army is being drastically reduced ready for the european army to raise its head.

We have politicians who lie and use spin,if you asked them a simple straight question you no longer get an answer just a convoluted reply which means absolutely nothing.

Lets not kid ourselves Britain isn't broken, but you need to keep the vets number on speed dial just in case.

You make some good points, but I don't necessarily agree with this. Food banks are quite convenient for the idiots who waste their money on booze and fags, only to fall back on handouts.

Lot's of big UKIP posters in big fields around here.

Landowners and farmers are fed up with being lied to and disgusted by the way our land is being raped and pillaged by Tory policies in the name of the housing market and progress.

The thing about your statistic is, most of those who ARE committing fraud are not known about! And by the way, I've known some fraudsters personally - some claiming housing benefit, some claiming disability. It's rife!

Funny that, I have seen loads of Conservative posters in fields near Kings Lynn.

How do you know that if those commiting fraud are not known about.

Or is it just your opinion.

Well, looking at it logically, if a fraudster is known about then they wouldn't be allowed to carry on for years.

Henry Bellingham is an institution in North West Norfolk. Why is this funny?

Venture out of your cave.

My cave? If you must know, I drive around most of Norfolk, Cambs and parts of Suffolk during work. I've seen Mainly Ukip and Conservative posters in most places.
