robb1977
Hi all, Im currently going through the process of applying for my SGC with GMP and just wondered if anyone here has recently got it and how long it can take. Im not the most patient person so the waiting is the hardest part. Thanks Rob
Gordon R
GMP are just about the fastest in the country. Judging by posts on here, I would also say they are the best. Weeks as opposed to months.
robb1977
Im coming upto the 6 week mark so hopefully wont take too much longer to hear something.

Browning 425 clay hunter
From application posted to cert dropping through letter box was 26 days for me (3 years ago !) with GMP. From what I've read on here we do seem to have one of the best licensing teams in the country. Hope it comes through soon. ATB
MiLisCer
From what I have read elsewhere - things have taken a turn for the worse with a change in management - some folk have 1:1s that have been in for months and still no sign! flynny
I did a variation at end of February , got it back within a week, Maybe all the new licence applicants are moving to Manchester, for a better service lol and are making gmp very busy lol, Atb Flynny
Mossyoak77
Miliscer is right, change in management Ive had my 1 for 1 with them now 7 weeks will be eight next week. did send an email to them earlier today no reply as yet their own website is advising renewals may take up to 8 weeks "due to new processes", when I spoke to someone last year regarding priority It went renewals, variations, grants then land checks

robb1977
I'm not quite up there with the lingo but is a 1 for 1 a renewal? It looks like I may have some more waiting to do.
Bobba
Think yourself lucky your not avon and Somerset Why? Have things changed in a year? Very disappointing if they have. My renewal in April 2014 went according to plan. My shooting buddies and I have always experienced good service over the years.

Saffa
I got my SGC last year with GMP, 3 weeks from posting it to receiving my certificate. My wife just applied and from posting the application to the interview was 4 weeks exactly. He said due to management changes it takes a bit longer and she should expect to receive her certificate in May.
LancsLad45
I applied for an SGC with Lancashire on the 8th April and got my Interview on Friday ( 2 weeks 2 days) but no idea how long till I get certificate after that.
Lord O War
My SGC from GMP took about 3 weeks all in, I was the slowest part of the process as I didn't have my cabinet fitted when he came round for the interview. I think GMP may slow down a bit due to this http://www.wigantoday.net/news/local/every-gun-licence-to-get-police-review-1-7228230 !
