lord_seagrave
This is the good stuff chaps, a proper summer red. Under a fiver a bottle. Picnic wine in the truest sense - great chilled, or with a splash of soda. LS
jasper3
anything under a fiver is good… but i must admit to quite liking a nice little number from Gallo family vineyards, a cracking little Cabernet Sauvignon, coming out a 5.99… very nice
kernel gadaffi
This wine was reviewed by Ollie Smith a few months ago on Saturday Kitchen, we've tried it and it's a great slurp for under a fiver.
bruno22rf
Aldi do a, in my opinion, nicer one for less.....Bushland....premium estates Shiraz-£3.99-try it at your peril

Whitebridges
Q. What is it that winemakers say about Pinot Noir? A. It is his most difficult child I'll gt a few bottles to try. Cheers for the heads up.
Salop Matt
Got a bottle of Hardys Crest last night £4.99 which was very nice ! Better than half price, Morrisons. Edited June 9, 2015 by salop sniper
Hamster
Don't know about Aldi & Lidl but at the main supermarkets this half price thing is a complete charade, basically they're selling a £5 bottle for £5 with a bit of feel good factor thrown in , con artists the lot of them. That's what the wine experts say which I'd have to say my amateur palate agrees with.
Vince Green
I don't drink unfortunately so I can't give it a try but the amount of cheap wine on supermarket shelves is scary.
Aled
Aldi New Zealand Pinot Gris for £5.99 is a cracking wine, a similar bottle costs £8.99 at coop. However Aldi Gin at £9.99 a bottle is seriously good stuff. Cheers Aled

Saw a documentary where one of the big supermarkets doubled the price of a bottle of wine, have it on the shelf for a while, then put it "down" to half price! I always look at their wines and halve the price to see if it's good value! Edited June 12, 2015 by MrM
