Bluebarrels
Went out this morning with the intentions of decoying a few crows/corvids,got set up waited and waited and nothing.Eventually a lone bird decoyed into the pattern so I shot him and stuck him on the flapper hoping he might just pull a few into range, well after half an hour I gave up, nothing coming into the decoys Anyway thought a change of plan was needed, the field I was shooting over was Lucerne which has recently been cut and is now 6-8 inches high.I swapped the crow socks for half a dozen pigeon shells and the first pigeon I shot I stuck on the flapper anyway things started to pick up straight away, then the battery on the flapper gave up and so did the pigeons Just goes to show they like movement in the pattern, they were still dropping into the field of Lucerne but away from the decoys and shooting range.Anyway packed up and headed home not a massive bag but the flapper saved the day BB

steve_b_wales
Still better to be out though, than stuck in the house. Sometimes I use a rota when after Corvid's, but it's mostly Jackdaw's that are attracted to it.
