Scully
Always have to just about drag my dog into the vets if there's a need to take her, and yesterday there was. However, the practice has moved to a brand new purpose built unit on an industrial estate and even though my dog hasn't been before, as we neared the door she began to pull in the opposite direction, tail, head and ears down. What is it they can smell?

Paddy Galore!
Ever heard of " the smell of fear " perhaps they can smell other diseased animals and don't want to go in there
malkiserow
I seem to remember something about camels and needles. The vets have needles and camels are very smelly from both ends to I guess that is what your dogs smells. My dog has no nose.............. I hope this helps

loriusgarrulus
My dogs like the vets. I get dragged in there. Maybe it's the treat jar on the receptionists desk.

Scully
He's not allowed on the sofa. I am, only not when I'm licking my balls. Most of my glossy coat exists everywhere but on my head; that's just glossy skin.

WGD
Mine all walk into the vet no problem and are the only clients dogs that jump up onto the table when asked. Is the "dreaded vet" handler induced because you behave differently when going to the vet?
Scully
Hope she is up and about with you soon. Thanks LG. We've just got Back in and she seems fine now. Is the "dreaded vet" handler induced because you behave differently when going to the vet? Could be, although I'm not aware of doing anything differently. Like I said, yesterday she walked in as happy as larry, first time that's ever happened.
