30-6
On my cz style where I am getting the gun off my shoulder it has made the QD stud loose, NOT pulling out, but wanting to undo. Would normal type superglue stick the metal thread of the stud to the plastic stock, or would araldite be better ? Or any suggestions ? SPARKIE
Araldite would be better as superglue ain't the best on plastic
Flynn
Metal bonding to plastic - Araldite or a two-part epoxy. A "superglue" will be poor. Let it cure 24 hours at least. Edited July 13, 2015 by Flynn
clakk
worked on my swivel,2 part araldite

steve_b_wales
Same situation but wood Please. Quick set Araldite for wood too. I've fitted many studs to wooden stocks, and this glue is about the best. It doesn't have to be the quick set type though, the ordinary Araldite works just as good. malkiserow
Same situation but wood Please. Any 2 part Epoxy will work just fine. Best do them before they completely fail .

team tractor
Same situation but wood Please. Polyurethane glue would be best. It's set in 15 mins

Alpha Mule
The fore-stud on my Style was a bit loose when I bought the rifle. Not sure if it was due to sling or bipod use. Rather than just glue it back in, I got one of the adaptors for hollow stocks and set to. Take your time and be very careful with the Dremmel and araldite and you can end up with a stud that is ***extremely*** stable. Link to stud adaptor I have some piccies if you need (will need to dig them out). Edited July 15, 2015 by Alpha Mule
30-6
Thanks for all the replies, I'll have a think probably go araldite, then if goes again go for alpha mule suggestion.
Guest Wilksy
Gorilla glue is great expands slightly but sticks everything to anything!
steve_b_wales
Thanks for all the replies, I'll have a think probably go araldite, then if goes again go for alpha mule suggestion. You won't (or shouldn't) go wrong with Araldite. Use sparingly, and put a small blob into the hole in the stock, and smear some on the screw threads. panoma1
If it's just unscrewing as opposed to pulling out? Have you thought of thread locker? Loctite do various strengths up to permanent!
Savhmr
Q-Bond is the other solution. It is (I think?) an isocyanate based glue like superglue but uses a mix of powders too to form a very effective gap filling and bonding solution for permanent repairs in all sorts of materials but is very effective with plastics (as used by many automotive repair shops). subsonicnat
Super Glue and baking soda, mix with coloured wood quickly, if it will hold the pressure on a RED HOT Rad, your problem is nothing.lol. Worth a try anyway, it goes damn hard though..
