I thought Anita Rani did shooting a favour with her obvious enthusiasm for and enjoyment of clay shooting! She was genuinely as surprised as anyone that she enjoyed it so much.......perhaps she now starts to realise what we who partake in the sport love about shooting?.............and contrary to what the anti's would have the world believe........it ain't all about killin things!

I was about to say that.... well done. I don't suppose many of the antis object to clay shooting, and if they do then less so than tweed!

Considering it was the BBC I thought there was a total lack of 'anti' bias, which made a refreshing change. From some of the posts above I thought we had been watching different programmes. The only criticism I would have is that there wasn't enough time devoted to the game fair.

My thoughts as well :good:

When will we ever get a full complement of presenters who understand the countryside on countryside. The kids round here call it towniefile

It shows they are trying but let's face it most who watch it are even more clueless than the presenters

We are also at fault by pandering to thier ways

Scary bit on Scottish land reform from snp never meddle with what you don't understand should be my advice

Sort of wish they got independence now coz they are certainly going to need rescue when it all goes pear shaped under the current mob.

But it is aimed as townies isn't it? It's more about the countryside from a leisure perspective with serving of food and lightweight on "country" matters.

It is a good start but hardcore country programmes probably won't make it on the popularity front unless they have a historical interest or a unique and intriguing character featured.

That was scary stuff. The Scots have made their bed and will now have to lie in it.

Here's some more stuff about it: https://consult.scotland.gov.uk/land-reform-and-tenancy-unit/land-reform-scotland

See D bullet point three.

To end the business (non-domestic) rates exemption for shooting and deerstalking and bring these businesses back into line with other ratepayers who help fund local services.

So the costs go up to the end user of sporting services. Genius!

and

E bullet point two:

To improve deer management legislation;

So what is wrong with it then? Anyone know?

Jimmy Krankie and crew are all stark raving mad.

If anybody thinks we will be following suit in England they should be consigned to the nut house.

It is socialist policies and if you offer power to more voters, more voters will vote for your policies. Simples. Is it right? No. It's madder than a bag of badgers, one of them painted purple.
