fenboy
How the hell did thewy get in there? Thats not a good sign Same way as most carp end up in rivers flooding A1 pits are virtually on the banks of the trent , of course there are also those anglers who think it will be a good idea to give them a helping hand ! If there are many found their way in then it has the potential to ruin the river as they are such prolific breeders
Evil Elvis
Thats what I thought they breed like mad if theres a good food supply and clean water!!! You only have to look at the Ebro!!!
fenboy
To be honest I would think that they would be just as likely to have got in the trent by illegal movement , not sure if the A1 pits contain them but I would be almost certain they would not have permission from the EA to have them in a lake so near to a water course. It was the same with Zander , they found themselves in the midlands canals because the guys from that way got fed up with travelling to the fens !! Paul taylor
Just have to hope nature balances its self out as it usually does with predator and prey, certainly enough prey fish where I fish which is obvious as a numpty like me can catch and also the amount of pike in the area too. As Fenboy says can't see EA ever giving the pits permission to stock them as they would most certainly get into the river eventually. Danger-Mouse
I`ve never heard of cats in A1 pits. Heard plenty of rumours they`re in the Trent though. If they are then we`ll just have to hope they don`t become too prolific, that could ruin a fantastic river.
Evil Elvis
If they are in it and a male and a female meet up wont be long before its swarming, thing is, every lake i fish with them in is teeming with silver fish
