Scully
Brilliant. I recall as a young lad watching news footage of tribesmen making SMLE's and No 4's. Time moves on.
Chris Bb
We were in Spain a couple of weeks ago and saw a bloke welding manhole covers down (why?) using a portable petrol arc welder. Protective clothing: tee shirt & shorts. Crowd control: nil.
Bobba
We were in Spain a couple of weeks ago and saw a bloke welding manhole covers down (why?) Maybe they have "Travellers!!" in Spain and so welding them down stops the covers ending up as illegal scrap.
fortune
Although some would say they are a pile of junk, this is no different to how guns were made back in the day of hand craftsmanship in this country. it all boils down to quality of materials hand fitting of parts and proof testing. I wonder how they stack up to accuracy and wear resistance of the moving parts ECT.
sportsbob
If they are to be used in middle eastern warfare the life expectancy of the weapon is probably greater than the user.

Similar to the stens that father used to make before he went to Burma in WW2
humperdingle
Great video but can you imagine having to listen to that bloody 'music' all day??
B25Modelman
Brilliant video but bloody frightening. I wonder what precision task that guy was doing at 13.40 to the gun action. I would love to see/handle one of their sidelocks. As for gun control....we do not stand a chance.
1066
Enjoyed that - I'd like to know more about how it's organised. Are they paid on some sort of collective system? Are you a foresight blade maker because your dad was and that's all you know? How about a new model, they must have some sort of master craftsman who decides what sequence to machine bit in etc. Not a measuring tool in sight, hardly any cutting fluid, clapped out old machinery, amazing. Here's a little pistol I made, many years ago, using the same methods. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0LTanlKuT_4&lc=z12hylaxprydevwq504cev4penbxctpyhik

I am amazed at the craftsmanship of some people. I cant even put up a shelf!!
