bornfree
I shot a big dog fox Monday night he was the largest I have shot so I weighed him he was 29 pounds. What's the record?
WelshMike
Have a look on Fieldsports Channel for one that Roy Lupton shot it was an absolute monster . I have to confess that I havent ever weighed one of mine but 29 pounds is a big old fox.
sako751sg
Shot hundreds of foxes and never felt the need to weigh them although some have been huge. Seems to be a fixation nowadays to try and claim the heaviest fox ever when probably 99% of foxes ever shot have never been weighed.
FOXHUNTER1
29 lb is very heavy. Heaviest we have had is 23 lb and that's after shooting them for 25 years totalling over 1000.....

Do you weigh all your foxes or just the bigger ones?
walshie
I weighed one I shot because it was a monster and I had my fishing scales to hand. That was only 25lb. I believe a 40lber was shot a couple of years back somewhere. Edited October 29, 2015 by walshie
bornfree
This one had eaten over half of a 12lb goose when I shot him so his belly was full.
WelshMike
This one had eaten over half of a 12lb goose when I shot him so his belly was full. Does that count as a 23 lb fox then?
Whitebridges
I shot one a couple of seasons ago that went 31lbs. I left a pair of small scales in the top pocket from a fishing trip the day before. I don't usually take scales when i'm shooting. Dropped him with an ounce of no 6. Haven't got close to one that size before or since.
bornfree
Does that count as a 23 lb fox then? As I never found an exit wound he also had 55 grains of lead in him.
WelshMike
As I never found an exit wound he also had 55 grains of lead in him. I think we can let you off on this mate. 23 lbs and 55 grains then?
marlin vs
My fox is bigger and heavier than your fox , once they are dead that's all that matters.
Dekers
I've only ever had a handful over 20lb. 29lb is massive, I've not had one close to that.

Benthejockey
I had one come and decaptitate a load my turkeys just before Xmas 3 years back. We'd just taken in a family of foster kids and I took the eldest and youngest out with me for a walk with the terrier mainly just to wear the little ******* out! An hour later we returned home a cartridge lighter, a muddy terrier and a 7year old town kid dragging a fox back across the field. They'd never seen one up close and he was a big ****** so we weighed and measured him he was 3ft 6 from nose to tip of the tail and weighed 28lb. Kept the kids quiet for a while.
