blasterjudd
As the post is it a bumper year for Acorns ? I personally don't see that many around this year but someone else in the area claims it is and is affecting pigeons from coming out of the woods??? Whitebridges
I've seen some trees loaded up with a heavy crop yet other trees with very light fruit. Seems to be very inconsistent for some reason.
pigeon controller
We have loads on most of our oaks, we've had to sweep them off the paddocks to stop the horses eating them.
Cranfield
I have been looking for them in the pigeon's crops and I haven't found any yet. I am mostly shooting over old cereal and bean stubbles.
oowee
We have loads here.
Tomo-1
Very heavy crop of acorns here in north Essex/ South Suffolk. Seen lots of pigeons feeding on them too, especially down the lanes that I have been driving down today.
DEADLY PLUMBER
Average year for acorns round my area. Acorns and conkers seemed to drop early this year. Also other berrys about. I've seen pigeons on Hawthorne berrys just a few days ago.
craftycarper
Not seen many acorns, but the sloes are in abundance and a fair size this year also had a good few large chestnuts to roast a week or two back
Michael170874
The oak trees are bare up here so too are the conkers and beach mast .which is a good thing as the birds will be on the rape early.
Imperator SKB
Here in the heart of Kent its a very good crop of Acorns and the Pigeons are clearing them around the Hedgerows, only had one go so far n got 42, but as usual I can't get at the best ground thanks to Pheasant shoots and livestock! Seen a few on Holly berries and even Haws bloody early for them.
Salop Matt
A fair amount around here and a few pigeons about too !

Tomo-1
Yep, I agree with Craftycarper, there are lots of huge sloes here too, well not so many now, as there is a big bagful in my freezer waiting for the attention of some gin! Haha. See Sipsmith's website for the best recipe.
kitchrat
As the post is it a bumper year for Acorns ? I personally don't see that many around this year but someone else in the area claims it is and is affecting pigeons from coming out of the woods??? No, just the odd tree with a few. Sloes, blackthorn etc have lots. Just been out searching all morning, saw more deer, more alpacas in the fields than I did pigeons!!
blasterjudd
Cheers Kichrat were of same mind set ! A local guy told me it's a bumper year but not on our farms it's not. TBH I got the feeling the guy was talking rubbish as I have spent enough time round oaks to see there a bit hit and miss around the hedgerows
