wildfowler.250
Thinking of leasing a freelander 2 as a shooting/motorway car. Needing a car that is capable off-road but good on roads as well so think it'll be a good combo? Anyone on here got experience with them? Would love a pickup but they'll be really thirsty and a pain to park in town
Davyo
I'd think twice about taking a leased vehicle off road.I used to lease a 2nd car ( road car ) and they used to go over it looking for the least little mark to sting you when it went back. B391
I have 2 FL2's. They commute, holiday in Europe, kids run, shopping and go off road to get me to shoots. Awesome and comfortable vehicles. Get an auto by far the best and don't use road bias tyres, something like the Goodyear Wrangler or Pirelli All Weather tyres will do everything you need unless you go serious mud plugging
phil123
Freelander 2's are great. Comfy on road and very capable off road. Mine will go every where all my friends pickups go without getting stuck. A lot of people will tell you don't buy a Land Rover but as long as you look after them they are fine, never had a problem with mine. What age are you looking for? Just so happens mine is for sale! wildfowler.250
Cheers for the replies lads! I'd think twice about taking a leased vehicle off road.I used to lease a 2nd car ( road car ) and they used to go over it looking for the least little mark to sting you when it went back. This does actually worry me a little bit. But don't quite have enough to fork out for a full car at the moment and they just lose money anyway. Can't win really. Thanks Phil but still at the early stages and probably looking to lease and not buy

steve_b_wales
I fitted General Grabber A/T's to mine. Excellent for most off road driving.

Fuji Shooter
Did they do away with that viscose coupling in the FL2?

Underdog
What the #1 really like? Will they creep quietly with not having a low range?
BRYAN3
The TD4 is brilliant. It's the rest of it thats unreliable ****.
zipdog
They are good cars but as you mentioned motorway driving have you considered a Audi A4 Allroad or Quattro? They are great to drive and surprisingly good off-road?
jay404
I did an off-road day in my discovery 4 and was followed by a freelander 2 all day . Struggled for ground clearance in some places but still got through . . And they are a nice looking motor too
