Foxes in South Wales

Recommended Posts

Question to any one especially South Wales

Why is it OK to shoot foxes in South Wales with a shotgun but they will not approve 22lr and 17 hmr for foxing.

Shotgun is just as likely to wing a fox as these two rifles

Strange

Yes they will.

They will allow it and it is a lot to do with how it is wrote down on your ticket eg.for the use on any legal quarry but saying that id much prefer a higher calibre such as a 17 hornet 22.250 or .223 for fox control

The Law applicable to Firearms is the same in S Wales as England.

If your region will not condition rimfires for fox ask them why.

Many people have rimfires conditioned for fox (or AOLQ) and the latest Home Office guide lists them all as suitable, even the .22lr.

:yes::good:

Both my .22lr and 17hmr are for vermin and AOLQ and when I asked the FEO he said Fox is okay for HMR, but as the 22lr is for the same conditions on my ticket they both could be used then for fox

And as my .22-250. Covers Fox and AOLQ

So basically all my rifles could be used on from Fox to rat if needed.?

You can use any of your guns conditioned AOLQ for just that.

What makes you think Fox is the top of the list and rat bottom?
