muncher
I am off on holiday next week for a fortnight and needed to have a go at some pigeons before I go. I found a small field of peas that I hadn't noticed on a farm I shoot and it was getting some interested by our feathered friends ,so I watched it for a couple of evenings and thought it will shoot but it really needs a couple more days to build up to a big bag day, unfortunately I didn't have the time to wait ,so I called my old mucker and said you can join me if you like but I'm not expecting a big day . Motty said he would come over and join me and when he arrived I had ten dead birds on cradles and 2 on the rotary out in front and slightly to my left as the wind was in my face as to make the field shootable as a house is in the way to shoot from the other side of the field .The odd bird did decoy but most would come over our shoulders and then veer off making some awkward shots and to be fair we both shot poorly at times that said we managed 37 picked and a nice afternoon. marsh man
You will be back in time for some decent bags on Peas that will be close to being vined and Barley that should be in a milky stage in a fortnights time . Not a bad afternoons sport for you and Motty and its nice to see the pigeons laid out in a traditional way for our county , I managed to get 26 today on Peas that are only a few inches high , fairly quite at times but it made a change sitting in the sunshine and not worrying about the cold and the heavy rain we had for most of last week , I wont say the famine is over but we are managing to survive on a few small crumbs

JDog
In anticipation of my pending trip to Norfolk I have been standing in water filled ditches wearing body armour and protective head gear. Now you tell me you are going on holiday.

motty
Yeah, not a bad session, really. We should have shot a few more. Not sure why we were not on form.
